The bottom left shows mother and child (without halo) and a young boy offering a rose. At the bottom right Mary is seen holding the two turtle doves, the offering made at the Temple in Jerusalem for the later delivery of her son. The inscripion read: 'In memory of Frederick Boughton Messenger born 17 April 1860 died 19 April 1936 and of his wife Helen Shroder Messenger born 22 October 1857 died 12 April 1927' The family lived at Longacre.9
