     James Axford Mead was born on 15 November 1905 in Alresford, Hampshire, England.1 He married Elsie Mary Buckton on 18 October 1930 in Emmanuel, Stoughton, Guildford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by David Mead, Eric John Buckton and Molly S Buckton. James as a dairyman and his father Walter Mead was a farmer. Elsie was a nurse and her father was deceased and unamed. Both James and Elsie gave their address as Mayfield, Woodbridge Hill.2,3 His wife Elsie died on 21 January 1979 in Elmlea, Wonersh Common, Surrey, England.4,5,6 He died in April 1996 in Surrey, England, at age 90.7
