Sidney George Cumper was born on 21 November 1902 in Albury, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Charles Cumper and Annie Shurlock. He was the son of Charles Cumper and Annie Cumper in the 1911 census in Albury Heath, Albury, Surrey, England.2 Sidney was a page and footman to Queen Mary from 1925 to 1953 and amassed a lovely collection of royal photographs. This album went up for sale by auction by Reeman Dansie in 2008 and were expected to fetch more than £600. The pictures included very informal pictures of the royal family.3,4 He married Beryl Miriam Anderson on 7 August 1939 in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England, Queen Mary sent a signed portrait of herself, a portrait of King George V., and a canteen of cutlery to a couple married at King's Lynn, Norfolk. The bridegroom, Sidney George Cumper, of Albury, Surrey, has been in the service of Queen Mary for 10 years. His bride was Beryl Anderson, a King's Lynn photographer's assistant.5,6 He appeared on the National Register of 29 September 1939 in Badminton House, Sodbury, Gloucestershire, England, During the Second World War, George VI wished his mother to be evacuated from London. Although she was reluctant, she decided to live at Badminton House, Gloucestershire, with her niece, Mary Somerset, Duchess of Beaufort, the daughter of her brother Lord Cambridge. Her personal belongings were transported from London in seventy pieces of luggage. Her household, which comprised fifty-five servants, occupied most of the house, except for the Duke and Duchess's private suites, until after the war. George could be found on the register as one of her footmen, his new wife was staying in the High Street.7 He died on 17 December 1961 in Lynbury, 171 Cornwall Road, Ruislip Manor, Middlesex, England, at age 59.8,9 His estate was probated on 21 February 1962 in Oxford to Beryl his widow. His estate was valued at £3,856 18s 6d.9

The ceremony was witnessed by Walter Cumper, Leslie Hurst and Louisa Blackburn. George was a carpenter from Farncombe and his father also George was a haulage contractor. Ada was living in Albury and her father Charles had died.4,5 She received the probate of the estate of Amy Kate Chandler on 13 February 1964.6 Her husband George died in December 1977 in Surrey, England.7 She died in May 1987 in Taunton Dene, Somerset, England, at age 79.8
