     Caroline Mills was born circa 1854.2 She married Edward Jesse Stemp, son of Edward Stemp and Emma Farnfield, on 4 February 1888 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by James Fain and Alice Bennett. Edwin was a labourer living at Long Common, his father Edwin was alsio a labourer. Caroline's father Challander Mills was also a labourer but deceased.1,3 She was the wife of Edward Jesse Stemp in the 1891 census in Wonersh, Surrey, England. Jesse was a bricklayers labourer living with his wife. They had two lodgers both bricklayers.4 She died in 1892 in Shamley Green, Surrey, England.5 She was buried on 24 November 1892 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.3

The bridegroom, Sidney George Cumper, of Albury, Surrey, has been in the service of Queen Mary for 10 years. His bride was Beryl Anderson, a King's Lynn photographer's assistant.2,3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Beryl was listed as living at High Street, Sodbury, Gloucestershire, England her husband was working as a footman for Queen Mary who had evacuated to Badminton House and took her servants with her.4 Her husband Sidney died on 17 December 1961 in Lynbury, 171 Cornwall Road, Ruislip Manor, Middlesex, England.5,6 She received the probate of the estate of Sidney George Cumper on 21 February 1962.6

The ceremony was witnessed by Walter C Cumper and Charles Cumper. James was a carpenter from Albury, his father also named James had died. Margaret was from Shere and her father Charles was a painter.1,3 He died on 9 September 1956 in St Luke's Hospital, 10 Warren Road, Guildford, Surrey, England, his usual address was 150 New Road, Chilworth.4,5 His estate was probated on 29 October 1956 in London to his widow Margaret.
