Mary Anne Hanson

Mary Anne Hanson married John Charles Wallop, son of John Wallop and Urania Fellowes, on 17 March 1814 John was adjudged to have been insane since 1809. In 1828, his second marriage was annulled, and Mary Anne's children were declared bastards, it is believed they were not the children of John. A judgment for the £40,000 cost of the trial was issued against her, and she fled abroad to Canada, where she died destitute in 1870.1 She died in 1870 in Canada.2

Mark was a carpenter like his father.3 He was the son of James Strudwick and Elizabeth Charlton in the 1881 census in Wonersh Street, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Mark was a carpenter like his father.4 He married Emma Elliott on 23 March 1885 in St Nicholas, Brighton, Sussex, England, ter the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Robinson and Harrietta Herbert. Mark was a carpenter like his deceased father James Strudwick. Emma's father was also deceased John Elliott had been a labourer. Both Mark and Emma gave their address as 111 North Street.5 He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in Wonersh Street, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Mark was a carpenter living with his wife with three lodgers.6 Mark appeared before J G Pilcgher on 5 November 1902 accused of unlawfully attempting feloniously, wilfully and of his malice aforethought to kill and murder himself at Bisley on 18 October 1902. Mark pleaded guilty and was fined £10 and released upon the court hearing of his good behaviour.7 He died in 1904 in Wonersh, Surrey, England, Mark sadly committed suicide and the inquest held gave the verdict of temporary insanity.8 He was buried on 5 April 1904 in Chrict Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.8

They moved first to London and then spent the rest of their lives in Brighton and none seemed to return to Wonersh.4
