     Marcel Evelyn Ralph Gardiner was born on 11 April 1914 in Islington, London, England.¹ He was the son of Alfred Ernest Ralph Gardiner and Ellen May Lovewell. He was baptised on 10 May 1914 in Weslayan Chapel, Caladonia Road, Islington, London, England, his parents were listed as Alfred Ernest and Elle May Gardiner.² On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Marcel Evelyn Ralph Gardiner was listed as living at 79 Elmstead Gardens, Epsom, Surrey, England, with his parents Marcel was a foreman and engineer mechanic.³ He married Kathleen Mary Selfe in 1941 in Aldershot, Hampshire, England.⁴ He died in 1978 in Surrey, England.⁵

     Leslie John Chalcraft was born in 1928 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.¹ He was the son of William George Chalcraft and Florence May Drewett. He married Gwendoline Sylvia Mary Herbert, daughter of William Thomas Herbert and Jane Gray, on 12 August 1950 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by W G Chalcraft amnd W J Herbert. Leslie was a carpenter and his father William George Chalcraft was a labourer like Gwendoline's father William Thomas Herbert.² In 2006 Gwendoline and Leslie lived at 11 Lawnsmead in Wonersh.³ His wife Gwendoline died in 2007.⁴ He died on 21 October 2010 in Guildford, Surrey, England, aged 82.⁵ He was buried on 15 November 2010 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, joining his wife in plot Z63 after a service in St John the Baptist Church.⁴

His parents were Charles and Annie Drewiit and they lived in the same house as Florence's parents Robert Charles and Jane Drewett in 15 Maxwell Road Fulham. Both of their fathers were cabmen.² She married William George Chalcraft in 1921 in Guildford, Surrey, England.³ She died in 1944 in Surrey, England.⁴

     Betty K Chalcraft was born in 1924 in Hambledon, Surrey, England.¹ She was the daughter of William George Chalcraft and Florence May Drewett.

     Sandra Jane Chalcraft was born on 7 December 1953.¹ She was the daughter of Leslie John Chalcraft and Gwendoline Sylvia Mary Herbert. She was baptised on 8 March 1954 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, her father was a carpenter.¹ She married Kevin John Morley on 6 May 1978 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by L J Chalcraft and J Morley. Kevin was a mechanic and gave his address as 1 Croft Road in Witley. His father was John Percival Morley and he was an angineer. The ceremony was witnessed by T Green and Keith Deela. Timothy was a scaffolger and gave his address as 72 Dumore in Guildford. His father Roy Brown was a sales manager.      Margaret Catherine Amelia Paynter was born on 19 July 1908 in Yeovil, Somerset, England.¹ She was baptised on 6 September 1908 in West Coker, Somerset, England, her parents were James Bernard and Maud Josephine Payner. James was a solicitor and the family lived in Hendford Manor in Yeovil.² She appeared on the National Register of 29 September 1939 in the household of Margaret Catherine Amelia Paynter in Woodside, Elles road, Wareham, Dorset, England.³ Margaret lived in no 2 Chinthurst Lodge from at least 1957 to 1981.⁴ It is understood Margaret organised the WVS Meals on Wheels in Wonersh.⁵ Margaret lived in 17 New Road Wonersh from 1982-91. I suspect she named the house after the home she grew up in in Somerset, Hendford Manor.⁴ She died on 5 June 1992 in Hendford, 17 New Road, Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 83.^6,7 She's ashes were buried in St John the Baptist Churchyard, Wonersh, Surrey, England.⁵ Her estate was probated on 11 January 1993 in Winchester. Her effects were valued at £487,186.⁶

     Olive Emily Ridsdel was born on 24 May 1909 in Stockport, Cheshire, England.¹ She married Hector Graeme Mappin in 1929 in Billericay, Essex, England.² Hector and Olive were listed in 1939 n the Polling District of Coleman 20/24 Moorgate.³ She married Ian D Cuffe in 1945 in Surrey, England.⁴ She died on 5 May 1992 in Winchester, Hampshire, England, at age 82.^5,6 She was buried in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, her ashes were scattered in the churchyard after a service in the church.⁷

He married Olive Emily Ridsdel in 1929 in Billericay, Essex, England.¹ Hector and Olive were listed in 1939 n the Polling District of Coleman 20/24 Moorgate.² He married Irene Blackburn in 1945 in York, Yorkshire, England.³ Hector and Irene arrived in London from the Canary Islands in 13 December 1954 on booard the steamship Monte Urquiola. They gave their address as 16 Clifton, York. Hector was a Sales Manager.⁴ He died in 1960 in Tynemouth, Durham, England.⁵
