     John Callow Lintott was born on 14 June 1892 in Steyning, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of Frank Lintott and Rose Mary Ayling. He was listed as the brother in law of Albert Green and Rose Catherine Green in the 1911 census in Chelston Cottage, Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England. John was a gardener in the nursery.2 He married Margaret Amelia Jane Faulkner, daughter of James Faulkner and Susanna Jane Cannon, on 6 June 1938 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by James Faulkner and Percy J Williams. John was a painter, his father Frank Lintott was deceased and had been a bricklayer. Margarets father James Faulkner was a gardener.3,4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register John was listed as living at 4 Ladysmith, Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England, John was a house decorator listed with his brother in law Charles Faulkner. Both were married.5 From at least 1945-50 John and Margaret lived.6 John and Margaret lived at least from 1952-57 in 72 Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England.6

     Harold Ernest Hiley was born on 17 November 1908 The death register suggests his date of birth was November, the National Register suggests it was 17 November. At least from 1935 - 39 Harold and Dorothy lived in 55 Pine Ridge, Mitcham, Surrey, England.1 He married Dorothy Everard Lovett, daughter of David Thomas Lovett and Emma Louisa Filby, in 1935 in Wandsworth, London, England.2 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Harold was listed as living at 55 Pine Ridge, Mitcham, Surrey, England, Harold was a timber agents clerk for a Canadian Company. He seems to be sharing the house with Eric G Thorpe an estate agents negotiator. Harold was also a stretcher bearer ARPand Eric was in scout messenger and ARP. Not too sure a the moment where Dorothy was staying, maybe she had taken her two small daughters to safety.3 Harold was listed as a timber agent and travelled on board SS Joseph Lykes from Manchester to Canary Islands on 5 June 1948.4 Harold and Dorothy lived from at least 1968 through to Dorothy's death in 1988 in 24 Phillips Hatch, Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 Harold was a Parish Councillor in 1970s ans 1980s and Chairman for some time. He was also Chairman of Wonersh Sports Club and very instrumental in the setting up of Wonersh Sports Club as a vehicle for building the (then) new pavilion which was opened in 1974, and demolished in 1999.5 His wife Dorothy died on 16 October 1988 in 24 Phillips Hatch, Wonersh, Surrey, England.6,7 Harold donated a bench and it was placed on Wonersh Common dedicating it to his wife Dorothy with '1905 - D.E.H. - 1988' engraved on the top. He then sold their home in Phillips Hatch and moved to Lincolnshire to be near his daughter.5 He died on 15 August 1993 in 2 Fan Close, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England, at age 84.8,7 His estate was probated on 4 November 1993 in Ipswich. His effects were valued at £165,954.7

     Dorothy Everard Lovett was born on 1 June 1905 in St Pancras, London, England.1 She was the daughter of David Thomas Lovett and Emma Louisa Filby. She was the son of David Thomas Lovett and Emma Louisa Lovett in the 1911 census in 1 Bonneville Gardens, Bonneville Road, Clapham Park, London, England.2 At least from 1935 - 39 Harold and Dorothy lived in 55 Pine Ridge, Mitcham, Surrey, England.3 She married Harold Ernest Hiley in 1935 in Wandsworth, London, England.4 Harold and Dorothy lived from at least 1968 through to Dorothy's death in 1988 in 24 Phillips Hatch, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 She died on 16 October 1988 in 24 Phillips Hatch, Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 83.5,6 Her estate was probated on 26 January 1989 in Winchester. Ray Block

     Ray Block was born on 31 May 1963 in Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Leslie R Block and Anni E Kluver. Ray played football for Wonersh Football Club but otherwise had no connection with the village. He lived in Guildford and was a driver on South West Trains.2 Sadly he suffered a brain haemorrhage whilst playing for Wonersh and collapsed on the field. He was taken to hospital but in due course his life support system was switched off.3,2 There is a bench on Wonersh Common overlooking the fields where Ray played A memorial plaque was placed on the back stateing ' In memory of Ray Block 1963 – 2003 he loved sport and always played the game.4'

Frank Durrant

     Frank Durrant was born on 1 August 1918 in No 1 Cottage, Seminary, Wonersh, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of David Durrant and Edith Elizabeth Turner. Frank, known as Badger worked at the Seminary before, during and after Worlld War Two.2 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Frank Durrant was listed as living at 1 Seminary Cottages, Wonersh, Surrey, England, with his parents Frank was a general farm labourer.3 David and Edith were living with their sons Frank and Robert in 1946 in Seminary Cottages, Wonersh, Surrey, England.4 He married Maureen M O'Connell in 1952 in Friary, Blackheath, Surrey, England, Frank was the youngest son of David Durrant. Maureen the only daughter of Mr and Mrs O Connell. The bride wore ivorywhite satin and net voile lent by a friend and carried pink carnations. There were two bridesmaids, Misses Diana and Valerie Cooke (bridegroom's niece) One of them was in blue silk and matchiing accessories. They carried sweat pea posies and these with the bride's bouquet, were afterwards placed on the grave of the bridegrooms mother. The bridesmaids were given pearl necklaces by the bridegroom. Mr Albert Durrant was best man. Mr Harry Cooke (bridegrooms brother in law) gave the bride away and Mr Alan Rooke was groomsman. Father D O'Connor conducted the service, after which the bridegroom's nephew, little David Durrant gave the bride a lucky horseshoe. The reception at the bridegooms home was attended by 30 guests.5,6 He died in July 2003 in Surrey, England, at age 84.7

     Freda Constance Mary Durrant was born on 25 May 1914 in Hambledon, Surrey, England.1 She was the daughter of David Durrant and Edith Elizabeth Turner. On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Freda Constance Mary Durrant was listed as living at 1 Seminary Cottages, Wonersh, Surrey, England, with her parents.2 She married John Horton Lewis on 20 January 1940 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after a licence had been issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Nellie Lewis and Arthur George Durrant. John was a soldier from Farncombe, his father William Lewis was deceased and had been a coal miner. Freda's father David Durrant was a labourer.3 Her husband John died on 1 August 1944.4 She married Stanislaw Szczesny in 1949 in Surrey, England.5 She died in October 1984 in Surrey, England, at age 70.6

     John Horton Lewis married Freda Constance Mary Durrant, daughter of David Durrant and Edith Elizabeth Turner, on 20 January 1940 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after a licence had been issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Nellie Lewis and Arthur George Durrant. John was a soldier from Farncombe, his father William Lewis was deceased and had been a coal miner. Freda's father David Durrant was a labourer.1 He died on 1 August 1944 His service number was 2659562 and served in th Battalion Coldstream Guards.2
