     Eldred Buck was born in 1892 in Rudgwick, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of Charles Buck and Jane Higgins. He was the son of Charles Buck and Jane Buck in the 1901 census in Whitehall Cottage, Horsham Road, Cranleigh, Surrey, England.2 Eldred enlisted as a Sapper into the Royal Engineers on 19 January1916 in Rugby, he stated his occupation was a skilled carpenter and his address Gaston Gate in Cranleigh. His regimental number was 146138. he was 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighed 128 ibs. He had a chest measurement of 34 inches.3 Eldred was admitted to hospital on 30 November 1918 until 3 January 1919.3 He was demobilised on 5 September 1919.3 He died in 1968 in Worthing, Sussex, England.4

     William Otway Overington was born on 13 November 1882 in Loxwood, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of Obediah Overington and Caroline Thayre. He was the son of Obediah Overington and Caroline Overington in the 1891 census in Farm Houses, Wisborough Green, Sussex, England.2 He appeared in the 1901 census in 12 Queens Road, Guildford, Surrey, England. William was a bricklayer boarding with William and Alice Young.3 He married Margaret Clarke on 24 December 1903 in St Matthew, West Kensington, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Eizabeth Clarke and Alice Clarke. William was a bricklayer, his father Obed Overington was a labourer. Margaret's father George Clarke was a butcher. Both William and Margaret gave their address as 5 Ceylon Road.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 63 Davisville Road, Shepherds Bush, London, England. William was a bricklayer living with his wife and two daughters.5 His wife Margaret died in 1913 in Fulham, London, England.6 Private William enlisted in Guildford in East Surrey Regiment 8th Battalion number 36360. He stated he was living in Shamley Green.7 He died on 24 August 1918 in Germany at age 35.7 He was buried in Berlin South Western Cemetery, Stahnsdorf, Brandenburg, Germany, in plot XI.D.8. In 1922-23 it was decided that the graves of Commonwealth servicemen who had died all over Germany should be brought together into four permanent cemeteries. Berlin South-Western was one of those chosen and in 1924-25, graves were brought into the cemetery from 146 burial grounds in eastern Germany. I guess William was one of those.8 William is also remembered on the Shamley Green War Memorial.9

He was the son of Henry Risbridger and Clara Risbridger in the 1911 census in 185 Lower Road, Redhill, Surrey, England.2 He married Minnie Louise Eileen Smythe on 3 April 1926 in St John, Reigate, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Jessie Clara Hill and Frederick William Smythe. Joseph was a railway porter and his father Henry was a road foreman. Minnie's father Frederick Smythe was a compositor.3,4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Joseph Sidney Risbridger was listed as living at 5 Lower Road, Mead Vale, Redhill, Surrey, England, with his father Joseph was a railway road motor driver, not sure where is wife was staying.5 He died on 19 July 1945 in East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, Surrey, England, at age 42 his usual address was 5 Lower Road, Mead Vale in Redhill.6,7 His estate was probated on 26 October 1945 in Llandudno. Henry was lodging with Joseph and Emily Lewington, was unmarried and working as an agricultural labourer.3 He married Hannah Jane Moore, daughter of Edward Moore and Caroline Elsley, in 1886 in Guildford, Surrey, England.4 He appeared as a lodger in the 1891 census in Perseverance Cottage, Shalford, Surrey, England. Henry Risbridger was a labourer in the Chilworth powder factory.5 He appeared in the 1901 census in Pound Place, Shalford, Surrey, England. Lodging with Jesse and Mary Herbert. He was a labourer at the stone works.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Cranleigh, Surrey, England. Henry was a widower and agricultural labourer. Alice Goodall a widow aged 49 and Job Tarrant age 40 a single gentleman who was a bricklayers labourer. They were all staying in a shed on Typing farm in St Marthas. A policeman completed the census form for them.7 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Henry was listed as living at The Caravan, Three Compasses, Cranleigh, Surrey, England, Henry was described as a single Old Age Pensioner.8 Henry went to Warren Road Hospital in Guildford in June 1942 but returned in July to his caravan.9 He died on 30 December 1942 in Caravan, Furnace Lane, Alfold, Surrey, England, at age 81 The Surrey Advertiser of 23 January 1943 suggested that Henry had been living like a hermit and had not washed for years!! He was found in his caravan with the door bolted from the inside. There was very little food in the caravan. The Coroner recorded a verdict of death from natural causes.10,9,11 His estate was probated on 22 June 1943 in Llandudno to William Frederick Risbridger a bakers roundsman. His effects were valued at £106 12s 8d.11

He was baptised on 5 February 1860 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Charles Risbridger and Frances Risbridger in the 1861 census in Whest Land, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.3 He was a son of Charles Risbridger and Frances Risbridger in the 1871 census in Lords Hill Common, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.4 He was the son of Frances Risbridger in the 1881 census in Lords Hill Common, Shamley Green, Surrey, England. Henry was a labourer.5 He married Catherine Hawkins on 25 October 1884 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Susan Richardson and Alfred Richardson. Henry was a labourer like his father Charles Risbridger who was deceased and had worked as a labourer.
