Strangely there is a line drawn though his entry stating he is absent. His usual occupation was a mason. His medal card gives his number as 12631 he saw service in Egypt.6,7 He married Eliza ... George, Eliza and Albert arrived in Southampton on 21 April 1950 on board Winchester Castle from Durban. George was listed as retired and Albert a linotype operator.      Stanley Clarence d'Arcy was born on 21 January 1901 in Camberwell, London, England.1 He married Winifred Evelyn Pyke, daughter of Charles Christopher Pyke and Sarah Kimber, on 1 August 1925 in St Peters Hospital, Chertsey, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Charles Christopher Pyke and Rachel D'Arcy. Stanley was an Insurance Official and gave his address as 83 Eastworth Road. Winifred gave her address as 72 Eastworth Road. Her father was an Ex Police Inspector and Stanleys father Henry Alfred Augustus was a tie cutter.1,2 He died in 1970 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.1

     Ethel Rapsey was born in 1886 in Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset, England.1 She married Frederick Cecil Tytherleigh, son of William John Tytherleigh and Clara Critchlow, on 27 March 1911 in Christ Church, Woking, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Agnes and Alick Rapsey. Frederick was a postman. Bothe Frederick and Ethel gave their address as 101 Vale Farm Woking. Ethel's father Harry was a carpenter.2,3 She was the daughter of Harry and Annie Rapsey in the 1911 census in Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset, England. Harry was a carpenter and builder, the newly weds were staying in Dorset. Frederick was a postman.4 In 1920 Frederick and Ethel lived.5 She died on 17 February 1960 in St Peters Hospital, Chertsey, Surrey, England, her usual address was 2 Medley Cottages Westfield, Woking.6,7 Her estate was probated on 10 March 1960 in London to her husband Frederick a retired postman.
