     Wilhelmina Grieve L Markwell was born on 4 February 1901 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Ralph Markwell and Robina Ferguson.1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 56 Darnell Street, Elswick, Northumberland, England, she was listed as the daughter of Ralph Markwell.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 22½ Allgood Terrace, Bedlington, Northumberland, England, she was listed as the daughter of Ralph Markwell she was at school.5 She married William Tumilty in 1920 in Morpeth, Northumberland, England.6 Wilhelmina and her two daughters Cora and Robina sailed on the Antonia from Liverpool on 23 April 1931 to Port Huron in Michigan arriving on 20 June 1931. Her two sons both had died in infancy. They gave their address in UK as with Ralph, Wilhelmina's father at 24 Beatty Road, Bedlington and their address to which they were travelling in USA as 1814S Lawndale Avenue, Chicago, Illinoi. The fare was paid by her husband and the girls father. They were planning to apply for permanent UA citizenship. Wilhelmina was described as five foot three inches tall, dark complexion, dark brown hair and grey eyes.7 Minnie moved to the United States and then helped her youngest brother Leslie to join her in Chicago with his family.8 In the census of 1 April 1940 in 4048 16th Street, Chicago, Illinois, USA, she was listed as the wife of William Tumilty.9 Wilhelmina became a naturalised US citizen on 3 April 1940. The process was witnessed by Julia Pesava 4048 W 16th St Chicago and Dolores Pesana 2837 W Cullerton, Chicago.3 Wilhelmina left Southampton onboard Gripsholm arriving in New York on 23 March 1946.10 Wilhelmina flew from London by Pan American Airwaysto New York on 9 February back to US the plane number was NC-86530.11
