     Frances and Charles were divorced.4 She was born in 1917 in Cathcart, Eastern Cape, South Africa.4 She married Sydney Quentin Bagshawe-Smith, son of Leonard Bagshawe-Smith and Ida Emily Fuller, on 3 April 1940 in East London, Cape Town, South Africa.2,3 Her husband Sydney died on 22 May 1941 During battle of Crete whilst on active service with the South African Naval Forces. Quentin was killed by the same bomb that killed brother Philip on the same ship, HMS Gloucester.1,2,5,3 She married Charles Cock in 1943 Frances was known to all her family and friends by her nickname Winkie.4 Frances died in December 1997 in South Africa from cancer. She had not long celebrated her 80th birthday with her four children.4
