     Nathaniel Merriman was born on 13 March 1851 in Knutsford, Cheshire, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Charles Anthony Merriman and Catherine Langshaw.1 He was baptised on 20 April 1851.3 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Knutsford, Cheshire, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Anthony Merriman Nathaniel was a scholar.4 Nathaniel was educated at Guildford Grammar school under Dr Henry Gordon Merriman.3 He married Eliza Louisa Merry, daughter of Alfred Senior Merry and Eliza M Bird, on 15 October 1879 in Swansea, Glamorganshire, Wales.1,3,5 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Heath Side, Knutsford, Cheshire, England, he was listed as the son of Catherine Merriman Nathaniel was an insurance agent.6 Nathaniel was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Cromer, Langland Road, Mumbles, Glamorganshire, Wales, Nathaniel was an Insurance Manager living with his daughter, mother in law, sister in law, one servant and a nurse in their eleven roomed home.7 Nathaniel died on 18 September 1912 in Llandaff, Glamorganshire, Wales, aged 61 in a bicycle accident.3,8

     Charles Victor Merriman was born on 16 June 1841 in Victoria Hotel, Euston Square, London, England.1 He was the son of Charles Anthony Merriman and Catherine Langshaw.1 He was baptised on 23 June 1841 in Old Church, St Pancras, London, England.1,2 In 1864 Charles received his BA. He had been educated at Christ's Hospital School and Queens College, Cambridge.1 In 1869 he was ordained to the Curacy of New Bilton, Rugby in the Diocese of Worcester by Bishop Philpott.1 He married Harriett Trew in Banchory, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 Charles was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in The Rectory, St Mary's, Hulme, Manchester, Lancashire, England, Charles was the Rector of St Marys living with his wife and children.3 His wife Harriett died on 18 January 1928 in West Cornwall Infirmary, Penzance, Cornwall, England, her usual address was Thule Germoe in Maazion.4,5 Charles died in 1931 in Helston, Cornwall, England.6

     Florence Edenborough was born in 1852 in Edmonton, London, England.1,2 She was baptised on 22 December 1852 in St Andrews, Enfield, Middlesex, England, her parents were Horatio and Fanny Edenborough.3 She married John Henry Merriman, son of Charles Anthony Merriman and Catherine Langshaw, on 29 May 1879 in St Stephen's, Hammersmith, London, England, after a licence had been issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Catherine Merriman, Horation Edenborough and Fanny Edenborough. Florence's father Horatio was a Major in the West Essex Royal Militia. She lived at 26 St Stephens Avenue, Shepherds Bush. JOhn gave his address as Knutsford in Cheshire.1,4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in The Elms, The Avenue, Egham, Surrey, England, she was listed as the sister of Horatio E B Edenborough, Dora M E Edenborough and Edward E Edenborough. Horatio was a gentleman living on his own means, Edward was an articled clerk. The household also consisted of John L Merriman aged 4 and Frank L Merriman aged 1.5 In the census of 31 March 1901 in The Village, Cranleigh, Surrey, England, she was listed as the wife of John Henry Merriman.6 Florence died in 1909 in Guildford, Surrey, England.1,7

     Thomas Hardwick Merriman was born on 1 May 1802 in 13 Young Street, Kensington, London, England, Interestingly this house was later W M Thackeray's house.1 He was the son of John Merriman and Jane Hardwick.1 He died in 1838 from smallpox in Kensington, London, England, He had been an Attorney at law.1,2 Thomas was buried on 27 June 1838 in Kensington Churchyard, Kensington, London, England.3

     Jane Merriman was born on 30 July 1804 in 13 Young Street, Kensington, London, England, Interestingly this house was later W M Thackeray's house.1 She was the daughter of John Merriman and Jane Hardwick.1 She married Thomas Simpson Evans on 20 December 1831 in Parish Church, Kensington, London, England.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in 4 Langford Place, Hackney, London, England, she was listed as the wife of Thomas Simpson Evans.2 Her husband Thomas died on 30 January 1880 aged 81.1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Buckland Vicarage, Buckland, Dover, Kent, England, she was listed as the mother of Turberville Evans.3 Jane died on 17 November 1897 in Buckland, Dover, Kent, England, aged 93.1,4

     Thomas Simpson Evans was born on 25 June 1798 in Blackheath, Kent, England.1,2 He married Jane Merriman, daughter of John Merriman and Jane Hardwick, on 20 December 1831 in Parish Church, Kensington, London, England.1 Thomas was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in 4 Langford Place, Hackney, London, England, Thomas was athe Vicar of Shoreditch living with his wife and children with three servants.3 Thomas died on 30 January 1880 aged 81.1 Thomas was buried in Buckland, Dover, Kent, England.1
