Esther signed her will on 25 October 1839 in Wonersh in the presence of Mrs Dinah Ford, wife of William Ford and Miss Catherine Thompson.2 She died in 1839 in Hambledon, Surrey, England.3 Her estate was probated on 13 January 1840 before the judge by the oath of Henry Richard Chetwynd Stapylton after an affidavit was sworn on 1 December 1939 by W H Cole te Vicar of Wonersh.2 She was baptised on 7 April 1972 in St Mary, Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, England.1

William was the Vicar of Malden living with his wife, children and Aunt Margaret with four servants.3 He was listed as head of household in the 1871 census in The Rectory, Malden, Surrey, England. William was the Rector of Malden living with his sons and two servants. His wife and two older children were visiting Frederick Biscoe, possibly a relative of Elizabeth in Hove.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in The Vicarage, Malden, Surrey, England. William was the Vicar of Malden living with his wife and four servants.5 His wife Elizabeth died on 18 September 1893 in Eastbourne, Sussex, England.6,7 He received the probate of the estate of Elizabeth Biscoe Stapylton on 30 December 1893 in London to her husband Rev William Chetwynd Stapylton Honorary Canon of Rochester. Her effects were valued at £321 1s 3d.7 He married Mary Elizabeth Johnson on 21 April 1898 in St Stephen, Kensington, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by H E Johnson and Ella Cockburn. William was a widower and a clerk in holy orders. His father Henry Richard Chetwynd Stapylton was deceased and had been a Major in 10th Hussars. Mary's father Frederick Johnson was a civil engineer.8 He died in 1919 in Tonbridge, Kent, England.9

     Henry Richard Chetwynd Stapylton was born on 23 January 1789 in York, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of Granville Anson Chetwynd and Martha Stapylton. He was baptised on 25 January 1789 in St Martin, Coney Street, York, Yorkshire, England.2 He married Margaret Hammond on 13 December 1820 in St Marylebone, Westminster, London, England, after a licence was issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Lloyd, Dawson Allen, George Newman and others.3 He was listed as head of household in the 1851 census in 18 Devonshire Street, Marylebone, London, England. Henry was a fund holder living with his wife, children and four servants.4 He died on 4 April 1859 in 18 Devonshire Street, Portland Place, London, England, at age 70.5,6 His estate was probated on 3 May 1859 at the Principal Registry by the oath of his son Henry Edward Chetwynd Stappylton of Shenley Lodge near St Albans.5 He received the probate of the estate of Margaret Stapylton on 9 October 1882.5
