     William Closs Shute was born circa 1833.2 He married Mary Greener, daughter of James Greener and Rebecca Maucer, on 1 June 1851 in St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Thomas Shute and Esther Shute. William was an engineer like his father Thomas. Mary's father James was a tanner.1,3 He died in 1876 in Poplar, London, England.4

     Sidney C Spry was born circa 1844 in Rotherhithe, London, England.2 He married Elizabeth S Greener, daughter of James Greener and Rebecca Maucer, on 7 June 1863 in St Mary Magdelen, Peckham, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Edward John Buster and Joseph Nicholls. Sidney was a baker like his father James. Elizabeth's father James was a tanner.1 He was listed as head of household in the 1871 census in 7 Beatrice Terrace, Bermondsey, London, England. Sidney declares himself married and working as a photographer. His wife and daughter are with her parents. Interestingly Elizabeth is listed as single, was this a mistake by the enumerator?3 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 36 Bancock Road, Camberwell, London, England. Sidney was a Furrier living with his wife and three of his daughters.4 He died in 1903 in Lambeth, London, England.5

     Minnie L Spry was born in 1864 in Bermondsey, London, England.1 She was the daughter of Sidney C Spry and Elizabeth S Greener. She was a granddaughter of James Greener and Rebecca Greener in the 1871 census in 25 Stevens Street, Southwark, London, England. James was a tanner living with his wife and children. Their grand daughter Minnie L Spry aged 6 was with them.2 She married Benjamin Reuben Jones in 1892 in Camberwell, London, England.3
