The ceremony was witnessed by James Smith and Elle Janet Chowns. James was a carman, his father David Chowns was a shoemaker. Mary's father James Smith was a labourer.5 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Torfreda, Lebanon Road, Croydon, Surrey, England. Flora and her son listed as Robert Bliss were lodging with George and Caroline Bliss and their family. She was working as a laundry maid. George was I believe the brother of her future husband Robert, and he like Robert was a chimney sweep.4 She married Robert Charles Bliss on 29 June 1891 in Holy Trinity, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Margaret Davy and Rliza M Box. Robert was a chimney sweep like his father George Bliss. Flora's father David Cowns was deceased and had worked as a bootmaker.      Robert Charles Bliss was born on 17 March 1871 in Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, England.1,2 He was baptised on 28 April 1871 in St Mary Magdelene, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, England, his parents were George and Sarah Ann Bliss, living in Lower George Street. His father was a chimney sweep.1 He married Flora Emily Chowns, daughter of David Chowns and Caroline Martha Brett, on 29 June 1891 in Holy Trinity, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Margaret Davy and Rliza M Box. Robert was a chimney sweep like his father George Bliss. Flora's father David Cowns was deceased and had worked as a bootmaker. Both Flora and Robert gave their address as 7 Warpole Way.3,4 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 59 Cameron Square, Chelsea, London, England. Robert was a journeyman chimney sweep living with his wife and children.5 His wife Flora died in 1904 in Bethnal Green, London, England.6 He died in 1914 in Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, England.7

He was the son of Flora Emily Chowns in the 1891 census in 7 Worple Way, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, England. Flora and her son listed as Robert Bliss were lodging with George and Caroline Bliss and their family. She was working as a laundry maid. George was I believe the brother of her future husband Robert, and he like Robert was a chimney sweep.2 He was the son of Robert Charles Bliss and Flora Emily Bliss in the 1901 census in 59 Cameron Square, Chelsea, London, England.3

She was baptised on 31 October 1875 in St Mary, Byfleet, Surrey, England, her mother was listed as Carolime Martha Chowns, no fathers name was given.3 She married Henry Denly on 10 July 1897 in St Mary, Byfleet, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by John Chapman and Elizabeth Cole. Henry was a gardener, his father William Denly was a painter. Ellen's father Davis Chowns was deceased.4 She was the wife of Henry Denly in the 1911 census in Sanway, Byfleet, Surrey, England. Henry was a house painter living with his wife and two children. They had a boarder George Wells who worked as a road man.5

The ceremony was witnessed by John Chapman and Emily Martha Chowns. Arthur was a greengroocer and his father John Blacklock was a bailiff. Rose's father David Chowns was deceased.3,4,5 She was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Samway Lane, Byfleet, Surrey, England. Rose was listed as married and living with her four children. She worked as a laundress in the public laundry. Arthur, her husband had sailed from Liverpool arriving in Quebec on 27 May 1910 as a member of the Salvation Army on board the ship Corsican. Her daughter Amy was being adopted by her sister Emily Martha.6,7
