Mabel Constance Greener was baptised on 11 May 1890 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, her father was a labourer.1 She was the daughter of Frederick Greener and Rose Chewter.1 She was the grandaughter of James Greener in the 1891 census Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England.2 She was the daughter of Frederick Greener and Rose Chewter in the 1901 census in Woodyers Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 She married Henry George Beagley, son of Albert George Beagley and Sophia Josephine Millbridge Todman, on 22 March 1916 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Rose Greener and Albert James Withers. Henry was a Gardener from Compton. His father Albert George was also a Gardener. Mabel's father Frederick had died but had worked as a mill band maker.
The Surrey Advertiser of Monday 27 March 1916 gave a full write up of the wedding, saying Henry was the elder son and Mabel the fifth daughter. The bride was given away by her mother and was attired in a Saxe-blue poplin, with an over bodice of piece lace and blue chiffon, and wore a veil with a wreath of orange blossom. Her gold brooch was a gift from the bridgroom and she carried a sheath of lilies of the valley and white carnations. There were four bridesmaids, Rose, May and Winnie sisters of the bride and Molly sister of the groom who wore dresses of biscuit poplin, and silver brooches (gifts from the bridegoom). Master Freddie Withers acted as a page wore a poplin suit and was presented by the bridegroom with a silver bar pin. Some thirty guests assemled at the bride's home and the happy couple received many useful presents.4,5,6 The Surrey Advertiser of 13 November 1916 reported that Private G Beagley had been admitted into No 2 Canadian Hospital suffering from illness. Official news to this effect reached Mabel his wife who lived with her mother Mrs Greener in Wonersh. Private Beagley had been at the front for six months, and before the war had been employed as a gardener to Mrs Ewart of Northbrook in Godalming.7 She died in 1951 in 5 Flanders Cottages, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.8,9 Her husband Henry died in April 1951 in 5 Flanders Cottages, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.10 She was buried on 2 June 1951 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, in plot T4.9

Oswald Percival Greener was baptised on 30 December 1900 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, his father was a labourer.1 He was the son of Frederick Greener and Rose Chewter.1 He was the son of Frederick Greener and Rose Chewter in the 1901 census in Woodyers Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Rose Greener in the 1911 census in Barnett Cottage, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 He died on 20 August 1914 at age 13 whilst bathing in the river near Eastwood road in Bramley. An inquest was held by the West Surrey Coroner Mr Gilbert H White at Shalford Village Hall on 29 August 1914. The verdict was recorded as accidental death. His home address was Barnett Cottage, Barnett Lane in Wonersh. The accident was reported in the Surrey Advertiser on 29 August 1914 and the Wonersh Parish Magazine of September 1914 Oswald had been a chorister in St John the Baptist.4,5,6 He was buried on 23 August 1914 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 275 after a service in St John the Baptist in Wonersh. Oswald had been a member of the choir.4,6

Henry George Beagley was born in 1885 in Compton, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Albert George Beagley and Sophia Josephine Millbridge Todman.3 He was baptised on 27 September 1885 in West Clandon, Surrey, England.4 He was the son of Albert George Beagley and Sophia Josephine Millbridge Beagley in the 1891 census in Sunny Down, Compton, Surrey, England.5 He was the son of Albert George Beagley and Sophia Josephine Millbridge Beagley in the 1901 census in 11 Raleigh Place, Peperharrow Road, Godalming, Surrey, England. Henry was a domestic gardener.6 He married Mabel Constance Greener, daughter of Frederick Greener and Rose Chewter, on 22 March 1916 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Rose Greener and Albert James Withers. Henry was a Gardener from Compton. His father Albert George was also a Gardener. Mabel's father Frederick had died but had worked as a mill band maker.
The Surrey Advertiser of Monday 27 March 1916 gave a full write up of the wedding, saying Henry was the elder son and Mabel the fifth daughter. The bride was given away by her mother and was attired in a Saxe-blue poplin, with an over bodice of piece lace and blue chiffon, and wore a veil with a wreath of orange blossom. Her gold brooch was a gift from the bridgroom and she carried a sheath of lilies of the valley and white carnations. There were four bridesmaids, Rose, May and Winnie sisters of the bride and Molly sister of the groom who wore dresses of biscuit poplin, and silver brooches (gifts from the bridegoom). Master Freddie Withers acted as a page wore a poplin suit and was presented by the bridegroom with a silver bar pin. Some thirty guests assemled at the bride's home and the happy couple received many useful presents.1,7,8 Henry appears in the Wonersh Parish Magazines from August 1916 as serving for his country.9 The Surrey Advertiser of 13 November 1916 reported that Private G Beagley had been admitted into No 2 Canadian Hospital suffering from illness. Official news to this effect reached Mabel his wife who lived with her mother Mrs Greener in Wonersh. Private Beagley had been at the front for six months, and before the war had been employed as a gardener to Mrs Ewart of Northbrook in Godalming.10 Henry was reported among the wounded in Surrey Advertiser of 22 June 1918 as sadly having been 'gassed.11' He died in April 1951 in 5 Flanders Cottages, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.12 He was buried on 21 April 1951 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, in plot T4.13

Albert James Withers was born in 1884 in Lower Bullingham, Hampshire, England.1,2 He appeared in the household as a visitor of Rose Greener in the 1911 census in Barnett Cottage, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Albert was a domestic gardener and married Rose's daughter Minnie.3 He married Minnie Greener, daughter of Frederick Greener and Rose Chewter, on 5 February 1912 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by May Alice Greener and Winifred Adelaide Greener. Albert was a Gardener and his father George a game keeper. Minnie's father Frederick was a mill band maker but had died.1,4 He witnessed the marriage of Henry George Beagley and Mabel Constance Greener on 22 March 1916 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.1,5,6 He died in December 1926 in Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Surrey, England, his usual address was Littleford, Shamley Green in Surrey.7,8 He was buried on 16 December 1926 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 274 after a service in St John the Baptist in Wonersh.9 His estate was probated on 20 January 1927 with Administration papers to his widow Minnie in London.
