     James Upfold Risbridger was born in 1850 in Blackheath, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Henry Risbridger and Sarah Elizabeth Upfold. He was the son of Henry Risbridger and Sarah Elizabeth Risbridger in the 1861 census in Tangley Road, Shalford, Surrey, England.2 He was a son of Henry Risbridger and Sarah Elizabeth Risbridger in the 1871 census in Chilworth Station, Shalford, Surrey, England. James was a paper maker.3 James wrote his will on 1 December 1884. He stated he was a paper maker. He wanted to allow his mother to have the use and to enjoy his residence. On her death it was to go to his sister Mary Ann and brother Henry as tenants in common. since his mother predeceased him, in a codicil he revoked the part of his will to his mother and declared how his estate should be divided.4 He died on 19 June 1888 in Blackheath, Surrey, England, James had worked as a paper maker.5,6 He was buried on 23 June 1888 in St Marthas, Chilworth, Surrey, England, after a funeral service in St John the Bpatist in Wonersh.7 His estate was probated on 30 July 1888 in the Principal Registry by James Dyer of Blackheath a Manager to a Powder Manufacturer, his brother Henry Risbridger of 55 Templar Road, a police constable and Samuel Farnfield of Guildford a schoolmaster. His estate was valued at £295 13s 11d.6
