The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Wenham and Sarah Wonham. Joseph was a farmer from Newdigate like his father also called Joseph. Mary was from Albury, her father Thomas Wonham was also a farmer.3,4 He was listed as head of household in the 1871 census in Gales Round Farm, Newdigate, Surrey, England.
