     Harold William Murton was born on 6 April 1891 in Shamley Green, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of William Robert Murton and Elizabeth Selina Jane Mott. He was the son of William Robert Murton and Elizabeth Selina Jane Murton in the 1901 census in 15 Cambridge Road, Aldershot, Hampshire, England.3 Harold enlisted on 17 January 1910 into the Royal Marine Light Infantry Ply/14943 and served with 2nd Royal Marines Battalion Royal Navy Division.2,4 He died on 26 October 1917 in Arras, France, at age 26 he was a Lance Corporal killed in action. His death appeared in the Surrey Advertiser of 17 November 1917 stating he had been in the Royal Marines for something like nine years and formerly lived in Wonersh.5,6 He was buried in Poecapelle British Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, in Grave XLIII. F. 11. His body was identified by his disc.5
