She was the daughter of William Robert Murton and Elizabeth Selina Jane Murton in the 1901 census in 15 Cambridge Road, Aldershot, Hampshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Elizabeth Selina Jane Murton in the 1911 census in 1 Oakley Cottages, Norris Road, Farnborough, Hampshire, England.3 She married James Edward Ralph Johnson on 9 November 1927 in St Mark, Farnborough, Hampshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by C H Murphy and W R Murton. James was a Clerk for R A S C living in Stanhope Lincs Barossa Barracks. His father Ralph Johnson was deceased and had been a foreman. Hilda lived in Oakley Cottage in Morris Road, her father William Robert Murton was a french polisher.4,5 She died in 1977 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England.6

Francis John Butten was born on 3 April 1925 in Southwark, London, England.1 He was the son of Francis Henry Butten and Sarah Cullinane. Francis sailed on Orcades bound for Adelaide on 17 March 1950. He was a labourer and gave his address as 84 Purser House, Tulse Hill, London SW2. His brother Ronald following later that year.2 Francis returned to UK on 18 February 1954 leaving from Brisbane and arriving in London on 8 February 1954 on board Maloja. He gave his occupation as a truck driver and his UK address as 30 Barnacres Road, Bennetts End, Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire which was the address of his brother Anthony, who in 1956 tried his luck going out to Australia.3 Francis stayed with his brother Anthony for a couple of years But when he sailed off to Australia in February 1956 he must have got the wonder lust himself again and he boarded Arosa Sun on 2 November 1956 in Southampton bound for Quecbec giving the same Hemel Hempstead address.2 He died on 11 June 1984 in 2 Greencoat Mansions, Peabody Trust, Greencoat Place, Westminster, London, England, at age 59 Francis never married or had children.4,5,6 His estate was probated on 2 November 1984 Administration papers were issued in London. His effects were valued at not exceeding £40,000.5

Winifred S Butten was born in 1921 in Lambeth, London, England.1 She was the daughter of Francis Henry Butten and Sarah Cullinane. It is believed that Ronald, Winifred and Patricia were evacuated to Wonersh at the begining of WW2. Ronald stayed with other lads in the Gardeners cottage of Derryswood where as his sisters stayed in the house itself. It would appear from his story that was placed on the BBC website that their time in Wonersh was full of mischief for the boys.2 She married Arthur Bourton in 1942 in Southwark, London, England.3 She died in 2012.4

William George Charles Hill was born on 3 February 1895 in Guildford, Surrey, England.1 He married Dorothy Alice Pollard on 1 September 1917 in St Mary The Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Wilfred Teresa Collins, Alfred John Peto, Evelyn Mary Pollard and Edith Louisa Strudwick. William was a fitter and his father William John Hill was a stoker. Dorothy was listed as a domestic, her father William Edward Pollard was a painter.2,3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register William was listed as living at Melcombe, Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England, with his wife Dorothy. William was a toolman on a railway locomotive.4 He witnessed the marriage of Patricia Edythe Lonsdale and Ronald William Elliott Hill on 1 September 1956 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.5
He died in 1958 in Malcombe, Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England.6,7 He was buried on 11 April 1958 in Holy Trinity, Bramley, Surrey, England.6

Percy was Lt Colonel 48th Division Signals.5 Percy applied for and received a passport in London on 24 October 1947 to travel to Rio de Janeiro in 1951, he was listed as married. It also states his parents live in Shamley Green.6 Percy and Nancy arrived back in Southampton on board Alcantara on 26 November 1951 from Buenos Aires. They gave their address as 23 St Marys Road, Harborne in Birmingham and Percy was an engineer.7 He died in 1981 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.8
