     Susanna ... married Richard Clifton Richard was Filazer for Surrey and Sussex and they lived at Green Place.1,2 Richard Gwynn died without heirs and left all his property to his niece Susanna Clifton wife of Richard.2 Her husband Richard died before 1723. Susanna signed her will on 23 May 1723, leaving bequests to her children and grandchildren.3 She died in 1725 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.2 She was buried on 21 December 1725 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.4 Her estate was probated on 17 January 1726 in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.5

     Richard Clifton married Susanna ... Richard was Filazer for Surrey and Sussex and they lived at Green Place.1,2 He died before 1723. In 1724, Dr Willis, Bishop of Winchester, ordered a return to be made from every parish in Surrey. The visitation regarding Wonersh tells us that: “Richard Clifton Esq. with an estate in the parish and elsewhere of £180 pa. is our chief gentleman.”.2 His wife Susanna died in 1725 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.2

     John Jackson Sudbury was born in 1846 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was the son of John Linley Sudbury and Frances Jackson.2 He was the grandson of Thomas Hippersley Jackson in the 1851 census in St Marys Street, Stamford, Lincolnshire, England.3 He appeared in the 1861 census in St Johns College, Uppingham, Rutland, England.4 He appeared as a visitor in the 1871 census in Harrowby, Lincolnshire, England. He was listed as an attorney visiting a fellow attorney Robert A White and his family.5 He received the probate of the estate of Mark Garfit on 9 January 1873.6 He married Mary Smith on 22 September 1874 in Horbing, Lincolnshire, England, John's father was John Linley Sudbury and Mary's father was Henry Smith.7,8 He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in Wonersh Mansion, Wonersh, Surrey, England. It was becoming rather delapidated and in need of much money being spent on it.10 She died on 19 November 1926 in Grosvenor Hotel, Swanage, Dorset, England, at age 79.11,12,6 She was buried in 1926 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 403 after a service in St John the Baptist in Wonersh.13 Stocks were transferred from the estate of Mary Sudbury in 1927 to her son John Linley Sudbury described as an Esquire and Percival Hardy described as a solicitor.12 Her estate was probated on 26 January 1927 in London to John Linley Sudbury her son an esquire and Percival Hardy a solicitor. Her effects were valued at £4,702 4s 5d.6

     Aubrey Hugh Vernon Sudbury was born on 4 September 1887 in Watcombe House, Torquay, Devon, England.2 He was the son of John Jackson Sudbury and Mary Smith.1 He was baptised on 13 November 1887 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 He was the son of John Jackson Sudbury and Mary Sudbury in the 1891 census in Wonersh Mansion, Wonersh, Surrey, England.4 He appeared in the household as a boarder of Aubrey Hugh Vernon Sudbury in the 1911 census in 55 Dyer Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England. He was a student R A C.5 He married Annie Frederica Copland Sparkes, daughter of John George Sparkes and Mabel Louisa Warren, on 10 April 1916 in St John the Evangelist, Westminster, London, England, after a licence was issued.6,7 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Aubrey was listed as living at Lady Place Monastery Lane, Chanctonbury, Sussex, England, with his wife Annie. Aubrey was a retired farmer living on private means living with his wife, daughter and servants. Aubrey was in the Officers Emergency Reserve. Annie was in the local ARP services.8 Aubrey, Annie and their son Vernon were living in 1959.9 He died on 26 March 1963 in St Richards Hospital, Chichester, Sussex, England, at age 75 his usual address was Lane End, Rectory Lane in Pulborough in Sussex.10,11 He was buried on 11 April 1963 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 403 after a service in St John the Baptist in Wonersh.12 His estate was probated on 13 September 1963 in London to his widow Annie Frederica Copland Sudbury and Vernon Cecil Warren Sudbury a Major in HM Army.      John Linley Sudbury was born on 6 December 1876 in Herefordshire, England.2,3 He was the son of John Jackson Sudbury and Mary Smith.1 John was in Lockites boarding house in the Oration Quarter (Autumn Term) 1890 until the Cricket Quarter (Summer Term)1892 at Charterhouse School in Godalming. He trained to be a solicitor but did not practice.3 He appeared in the 1891 census in Charterhouse, Godalming, Surrey, England. John was a pupil.4 He was the son of Mary Sudbury in the 1901 census in Wonersh Mansion, Wonersh, Surrey, England.5 He was the son of Mary Sudbury in the 1911 census in Wonersh Mansion, Wonersh, Surrey, England.6 Mary and her son John were listed as living in 1919 and 1921 in Wonersh Mansion, Wonersh, Surrey, England.7 George Henry Westbury died on 5 November 1922 and he bequeathed his Great Western Railway shares to John Linley Sudbury, a landowner, Bertram Selby Westbury a farmer and John William Price a solicitor.8 Mary Sudbury sold Wonersh Mansion to Robert Haslam in1925. It was becoming rather delapidated and in need of much money being spent on it.9 Stocks were transferred from the estate of Mary Sudbury in 1927 to her son John Linley Sudbury described as an Esquire and Percival Hardy described as a solicitor.8 He received the probate of the estate of Mary Smith on 26 January 1927 in London to John Linley Sudbury her son an esquire and Percival Hardy a solicitor. Her effects were valued at £4,702 4s 5d.10 Siblings John and Evelyn Sudbury were listed as livng together in 1929 and 1930 in Little Orchard, Blackheath, Surrey, England.7 He died on 16 January 1933 in 7 Kenilworth Court, Putney, London, England, at age 56 his usual address was Little Orchard in Blackheath.. His obituary in the The Carthusian magazine (The Charterhouse Magazine) for March 1933 reads as follows: "SUDBURY. On January 16th, in London, John Linley Sudbury, of Little Orchard, Blackheath, Guildford, elder son of the late John Jackson Sudbury, late of Wonersh Park, Guildford. Lockites, O.Q.1890 - C.Q.1892. Became a Solicitor."11,12,3 His estate was probated on 4 April 1933 in London to Lloyds Bank Ltd. His effects were valued at £31,550 14s 2d and resworn £31.719 6s 8d and again resworn £31,668 19s 8d.10 The London Gazette of 14 April 1933 stated John died on 16 January 1933 and he had a further residence 'The Cottage' Lapford in Devon. This notice may have been issued as part of the two resworn attempts of his probate.13

     Henry Brett was born circa 1760.1 He married Elizabeth Eliot on 30 October 1785 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read on 11, 18 and 25 October. Henry, a bachelor was from Bramley and Elizabeth Eliot, a widow was from Wonersh. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Voller and Hester Valler.1,2 His wife Elizabeth died circa 1820 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 He was listed as head of household in the 1841 census in Wonersh Street, Wonersh, Surrey, England. Henry was a cordwainer and had Thomas Simmons and his sons living with him. They were agricultural labourers.4 He died in 1842 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.3 He was buried on 12 June 1842 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, aged 81.3

     Malcolm Kendra Williams was born on 1 November 1934 in Kent, England.1,2 Malcolm grew up in Sutton, Surrey and was educated at Whitgift school in Croydon, and then on to London University to read medicine. His medical career was divided between work as a District Medical Officer in Government Service in East Africa and work in UK as a GP.2 He married Brenda K Garner in 1959 in Bromley, Kent, England.1,3 Dr Malcolm Williams and his wife worked in Uganda and Zambia as a doctor.1 Malcolm was a Dr in Kent until his growing conviction led him to take up the cloth. He was ordained in 1985 at the age of 50 and his first ministry was in Birmingham.1 Malcolm and Brenda came to Wonersh in 1990 and stayed five years.1 Malcolm and Brenda returned on 11 June 1995 to Africa as a minister, Brenda is a nurse and plan to stay for five years until his retirement.1 He died on 5 March 2004 in Kent, England, at age 69.2,4
