     Mary Squires was born circa 1821 in Spitalfields, London, England. She was baptised on 21 January 1821 in Christ Church, Spitalfields, London, England, her parents were George and Sarah Squires, her father was a carpenter and the family lived in Wood Street.1 She married Alfred William Ede, son of William Ede and Catherine Duke, on 15 June 1847 in St Lawrence, Chobham, Surrey, England, after a licence had been issued. The ceremony was witnessed by James Squires and Selina Ede. Alfred was a draper and his father William was a farmer. Mary's father George Squires was a carpenter.2,3 She was the wife of Alfred William Ede in the 1851 census in Worplesdon, Surrey, England. Alfred was a licensed Victualler living with his wife, children, two servants, two lodgers and a visitor.4 She died in 1868 in Ewhurst, Surrey, England.5 She was buried on 9 December 1868 in St Peter and St Paul, Ewhurst, Surrey, England.6

Jessie was a milliner.4
