     George James Henry Hills was born on 3 January 1905 in Bramley, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Henry George Hills and Alice Mary Nye. He was baptised on 5 March 1905 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, his father was a labourer and the family lived in Bramley.2 He married Gladys Mary Bailey on 20 August 1927 in St John, Busbridge, Surrey, England, after the banns had beed read. The ceremony was witnessed by Harry Bailey and Thomas Wilson. George was a brewers drayman like his father Henry George Hills and lived in Cartwood Road in Bramley Gladys 's father Harry Bailey was a labourer. She lived n 43 Brighton Road, Godalming.3,4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register George was listed as living at 34 Friary Street, Guildford, Surrey, England, with his wife Gladys. George was a brewers lorry driver.5 He received the probate of the estate of Henry George Hills on 25 March 1963.6 He died on 7 January 1974 in 2 Church Close, The Street, Shalford, Surrey, England, at age 69.7,8 His estate was probated on 26 February 1974 Adinistration papers were issued in London. His effects were valued at £4,230.8

Donald Paul Montagu Stewart Cape

     Donald Paul Montagu Stewart Cape was born on 6 January 1923 in Naas, Ireland, he was the son of John Scarvell and Olivia Millicent Cape.1 Donald was educated at Ampleforth College and Brasenose College in Oxford. Donald served in the Scots Guard 1942-5. Donald entered the Foreign Service in 1946, serving in Belgrade until 1949. Donald served in the Foreign Office, Social and Economic 1949-51 becoming 2nd Secretary in Lisobon 1951-55, 1st Secretary (Economic) in Singapore 1955-57. In 1957-60 he was at the Foreign Office Atomic Energy and Disarmament. By 1960-61 he was 1st Secretary in Bogata, then 1st Secretary at Holy See 1962-17. He returned to the Foreign Office as Head of Information Administration Department 68-70. In 1970 he was appointed Counsellor in Washington until 1973, then Counsellor in Brasilia 1973-75. Then Ambassador to Laos 1976-78, moving to Ambassador and UK Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg 1978-83. In retirement he was Administrator of Anglo-Irish Encounter, 1983-98 and Chairman of the Anglo-Portuguese Society 1988-91.2 He married Cathune Agnes Johnston on 14 July 1948 in Kensington, London, England.3 On 28 July 1954 Donald, Cathune and their four sons arrived at Southampton on board the ship Andes from Portugal. Their address was given as Fairways, Ferndown in Dorset.4 Donald was awarded the CMG in 1977. He died on 16 June 2014 in Hilltop, Cranleigh Road, Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 91.5 He was buried on 26 June 2014 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after a service in St Thomas More in Bramley.5

     Cathune Agnes Johnston was born on 8 February 1924 in Burma she was the daughter of FH and WE Johnston.1 She married Donald Paul Montagu Stewart Cape on 14 July 1948 in Kensington, London, England.2 On 28 July 1954 Donald, Cathune and their four sons arrived at Southampton on board the ship Andes from Portugal. Their address was given as Fairways, Ferndown in Dorset.3 Cathune sailed from Lisbon arriving in London on 15 February 1955 on the ship Argentina Star.3 She died on 25 April 2020 in Birtley Nursing Home, Bramley, Surrey, England, at age 96 she died peacefully after a short illness. She had a keen intellect and was the first girl from her school to go to Oxford. She had many interests and a rewarding working life in both the Colonial Office and in teaching. Above all she loved spending time with family and friends and cherished these connections right up to the end of her life.1 She was buried on 9 May 2020 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, she joined Donald, her husband in the same grave.

     Andrew Thomas J Cape married Clodagh ... He was born on 9 July 1949 in Lambeth, London, England.1 He was the son of Donald Paul Montagu Stewart Cape and Cathune Agnes Johnston. On 28 July 1954 Donald, Cathune and their four sons arrived at Southampton on board the ship Andes from Portugal. Their address was given as Fairways, Ferndown in Dorset.2 Cathune sailed from Lisbon arriving in London on 15 February 1955 on the ship Argentina Star.2 Andrew was issued a visa at the USA Embassy in London on 22 November 1960 and flew on BOAC flight BA 557 arriving in New York on 20 December 1960. He gave his home address as Hilltop, Wonersh in Surrey.3 He died on 29 September 2007 in Donegal Hospice, Glenties, County Donegal, Ireland, at age 58 There is a bench dedicated to his memory on Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery.4,5
