Charles was a private gardener. Edith's incapacitated mother was living with them.5 He died in 1961 in St Luke's Hospital, 10 Warren Road, Guildford, Surrey, England, his usual address was 30 Newlands Avenue in Woking.6,7 His estate was probated on 22 January 1962 Administration papers were issued to his widow Edith Beadell. The ceremony was witnessed by Andrew Luff and Charles J Beadell. Albert was a gardener like his father James Beadell. He gave his address as Oaks Cotage, Woodlands Road in Leatherhead. Ivy's father Andrew Luff was also a gardener. Ivy gave her address as 15 New Council Houses in Old Woking.4 He received the probate of the estate of William Thomas Beadell on 12 October 1961.5,6

     Gerald Paterson was born on 5 February 1899 in Hendon, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Arthur Leopold Paterson and Violet Mary Hays. He was baptised on 10 May 1899 in Christ Church, Brent, London, England, his father was described as a director.2 He was the son of Arthur Leopold Paterson and Violet Mary Paterson in the 1911 census in Lynstead, Woodway Road, Teignmouth, Devon, England.3 Gerald served in a motor gun boat in the North Sea in the first world war and afterwards qualified as a doctor at St Thomas' Hospital in London.4 Gerald was a member of the Royal Aero Club Aviators and appears in their album under number 5532 on 22 June 1917. Flight Officer Gerald Paterson RN received his flying certificate while in a Maurice Farman biplane at the Royal Navy Air Station in Eastbourne.5 He married Margaret Ward in 1933 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.6 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Gerald was listed as living at 124 London Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, Gerald was a medical practitioner, he was listed as married.7 He did hospital service in the blitz until 1941, when he joined the RAF and was a member of the Advance Party during the invasion of Europe. He was mentioned in dispatches in early 1945.4 Aftyer the war he returned to general practice in Portsmouth, moving to Chilworth and Wonersh practices in 1947.4 Gerald and Margaret lived in 1948.8 Dr Gerald and Margaret moved in 1962 and Gerald held his surgeries in their outbuilding the garage in Mulberry Cottage, Cranleigh Road, Wonersh, Surrey, England.8 Dr Paterson retired in 1965 and continued to live in Wonersh until his death.4 Dr Gerald and Margaret moved into Riseley in Barnett Lane in Wonersh in 1981 where they lived until Geralds death.8 He died on 27 June 1989 in Riseley, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 90.9,10 The funeral of Gerald Paterson took place on 30 June 1989 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.11 His estate was probated on 14 August 1989 in Winchester. His effects were valued at £240,183.10 A bench was donated from his grateful patients to Dr Gerald Paterson and placed outside the Wonersh Pharmacy.12

     Arthur Leopold Paterson was born in 1865 in Paddington, London, England.1 He was baptised on 2 April 1865 in Holy Trinity, Paddington, London, England, his parents were Robert and Catherine Jane Paterson and the family lived in 10 Westbury Road.2 He married Violet Mary Hays on 26 June 1895 in St Mary, Ealing, London, England, after the banns had been read. Arthur and his father who was deceased Robert Paterson were described as Gentlemen. Arthur gave North Lodge in Ealing as his address. Violet's father Richard Daker Kays was also a Gentleman and she gave her addess as Crewe House, Montpelier Road in Ealing.3 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 282 Willesden Lane, Willesden, London, England.
