He was baptised on 27 June 1886 in St Mary the Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, his family lived on Shalford Common, his father was a labourer.1 He was the son of James Ireland Harbroe and Elizabeth Harbroe in the 1891 census in Shalford Common, Shalford, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Elizabeth Harbroe in the 1901 census in Shalford Common, Shalford, Surrey, England. Edward was an agricultural labourer.3 He married Beatrice Mabel Hotson in 1911 in Hambledon, Surrey, England.4 He was the son of Elizabeth Harbroe in the 1911 census in Mitchells Row, Shalford, Surrey, England. Ernest was a labourer, his future wife was visiting.5 Ernest and Beatrice lived in 6 Oakgate Cottage, Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England.6,7 Ernest enlisted in Guildford as a Private into the Queens Regiment, Royal West Surrey 6th Battalion no G/22563.8 He died on 1 December 1917 in France at age 31 Ernest was for some reason although he was buried under the name of Private Edwin Harbroe.8,9 He was buried in Gouzeaucourt New British Cemetery, Gouzeaucourt, France, in plot VIII D20.6

On 29 September 1939 in the National Register George Albert Harbroe was listed as living at 6 Oakgate Cottages, Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England, with his parents George was a road labourer.2 He died on 9 October 1940 in Sheppey, Kent, England, at age 26 Sapper Harbroe as Sapper 1919850 was serving with the Royal Engineers - 799 General Construction Company.3,4 He was buried in Bramley Cemetery, Bramley, Surrey, England, in Grave ref Sec H Row 28 Grave 2.3
