Ernest Hudson Jones was born on 30 November 1873 in Islington, London, England.1 He married Irene Florence Birch on 15 April 1897 in Brondesbury, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Peter Jones and Evide Gray Birch. Ernest was a merchant and his father Peter Jones a manufacturer. Irene's father Walter Gray Birch was listed as a Gentleman. Ernest lived at No 3 Chatsworth Road, Irene at no 5.2 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 12 Ropefield Avenue, Willesden, London, England. Ernest was a metal box frame manufacturer living with his wife, two sons and one servant.3 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Stalham, West End Avenue, Pinner, London, England. Ernest was a Director of 'Ltd Liner Co' manufacturers of locks living with his wife and children. A nurse and servant completed the household.4 In June 1915 when Victor joined the Inns of Court OTC it was recorded thatt he was living with his parents. he was described as being 5 foot 8 inches tall with a cheat measurement of 7 inches. His service number was 139034 in Lindesfarne, Langley Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, England.5 Ernest and Irene lived in Ashenden, Coppett's Road in Muswell Hill in 1926. Their son Victor was also listed but I suspect this was an error as often happened he had just not been removed. He was married and living with his wife in Wonersh.6 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Ernest was listed as living at Weyside, Sweetwater Lane, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, with his wife Irene. Ernest was a Director of a Limited Company manufacturing metal small wares. He was also a Lieutenant in the Royal Tank 2nd Battalion.7 His wife Irene died in 1961 in Surrey, England.8

Edward Arthur Radford was born on 3 January 1903 in Guildford, Surrey, England, his parents were Edward and Sarah Radford.1 He married Mildred Mary McWilliam in 1938 in Surrey, England.2 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Edward was listed as living at Meads, Wonersh Common, Wonersh, Surrey, England, with his wife Mildred. Edward was a chartered accontant and served as an ARP.3 His wife Mildred died on 24 August 1947 in Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Surrey, England.4,5 He received the probate of the estate of Mildred Mary Radford on 8 November 1947.5 He married Elsie Burdon in 1948 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England.6 Edward was a trustee, sidesman, Church treasurer and supporter of many activities.788 Edward and Elsie moved to Chepstow in July 1985 to be near their daughters.7 He died in 1989 in Newport, Glamorganshire, Wales.9 The funeral of Edward Arthur Radford took place on 6 July 1989 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.10 Edward's ashes were buried with those of his wife Elsie under one gravestone in St John the Baptist Churchyard, Wonersh, Surrey, England.11

Elsie Burdon

Elsie Burdon was born on 28 July 1917.1 She married Edward Arthur Radford in 1948 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England.23 Elsie's pioneering work began with the Mothers' Union and from that emerged the creation of Young Wives Group.43 Edward and Elsie moved to Chepstow in July 1985 to be near their daughters.4 Her husband Edward died in 1989 in Newport, Glamorganshire, Wales.5 She died on 6 January 2009 in Wirewoods Close, Tutshill, Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales, at age 91.6 Her body was cremated and her ashes were buried under one gravestone with her husband Edward on 16 August 2009 in St John the Baptist Churchyard, Wonersh, Surrey, England.7
