He was a domestic footman to Captain Ferdinand and Alexandra Stanley.4 Cecil is recorded in the Wonersh Parish Magazines as serving in the forces as a Private since December 1916. He was reported in the October 1918 magazine as being wounded in France along with several other Wonersh men but reports being favourable and wishing them a speedy recovery. His medal roll card states he was Private 880912 in 34 London Regiment.5,6 He married Ruth Elizabeth Vought in 1920 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.7 In 1921 Cecil lived with George Albert and Annie Marchant in 40 Borough Cottages, Guildford, Surrey, England.8 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Cecil was listed as living at 9 Hillside Road, Croydon, Surrey, England, with his wife Ruth.      Marjorie Ethel Phillips was born on 24 July 1904 in Guildford, Surrey, England.1 She was the daughter of Ernest Hubart Phillips and Ada Kate Franks. She was baptised privately on 28 August 1904 in St Nicolas, Guildford, Surrey, England, she was received publicly into the church on 15 July 1906. Her parents were Ernest and Ada Phillips of 11 Sandfield Terrace. Her father was a fishmonger.2 She was the daughter of Ernest Hubart Phillips and Ada Kate Phillips in the 1911 census in Knoonstad, South Hill, Guildford, Surrey, England.3 She received the probate of the estate of Ada Kate Phillips on 12 September 1955.4 Ada and her sister Marjorie were seriously hurt in a car accident in 1982 in Bramley High Street and were both taken to Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. Ada had been the organiser of the distribution of church magazines. Both sisters were regular worshippers in the church.5 She died in June 1996 in Surrey, England, at age 91.6

He was baptised on 20 June 1909 in St Nicolas, Guildford, Surrey, England, his parents were Ernest and Ada Phillips and they lived at Knoonstad, South Hill in Guildford. His father was a fishmnger.2 He was the son of Ernest Hubart Phillips and Ada Kate Phillips in the 1911 census in Knoonstad, South Hill, Guildford, Surrey, England.3 He died on 1 January 1943 while on active service in Algeria. Captain Warwick Hubart Phillips 20463 served in Royal Army Ordnance Corps in 77 Bridge Workshop REME. His parents were listed by Commonwealth Grace Commission as Ernest Hubart and Ada Kate Phillips of Hove in Sussex.4 He was buried in Bone War Cemetery, Annaba, Algeria, in grave IV.A.9.4 His estate was probated on 28 April 1943 in Llandudno to Barclays Bank Ltd. His effects were valued at £7,801 17s 5d. His addresses in the UK were given as 28 Pembroke Crescent in Hove and 62 Old Steine in Brighton.5

Patricia arrived in Liverpool on 8 June 1945 with her sons Christopher aged 3 and Anthony aged 1½ on Orion from Bombay. They gave their address as Loretto, Arterberry Road in Wimbledon.2 On 25 July 1946 Alec and Patricia left with their sons Christopher Patrick aged 4 and Anthony John aged 2 from Southampton on Strathmore bound for Bombay. They all gave their address as The Bungalow, Longfield Drive, East Sheen SW14.3 Patricia was secretary of the local WI when the family lived in Blackheath.4 She died in June 1999 in Surrey, England.5

     Alec Leslie Keeble was born on 6 May 1911.1,2 He married Patricia Agnes Devine. On 25 July 1946 Alec and Patricia left with their sons Christopher Patrick aged 4 and Anthony John aged 2 from Southampton on Strathmore bound for Bombay. They all gave their address as The Bungalow, Longfield Drive, East Sheen SW14.1 He died in 1971 in Surrey, England, from cancer.3,4 He was buried on 24 September 1971 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 586 after a service in St John the Baptist in Wonersh.5
