Pamela M Dixon was born in 1928 in Eton, Berkshire, England.1 Pamela went from Slough High School to wrapping Mars bars in a local factory. She then went to nursing traing in Westminster Hospital where she stayed for ten years, becoming a theatre sister.2 She married Sidney Roy Pengilly in 1956 in Maidenhead, Berkshire, England, Sidney was a lather merchant.3 After bringing up her family in New Malden she retrained as a primary school teacher and taught in Brixton, where in her words, her task was more llike riot control. She then trained as a health visitor and moved to Wonersh.2 Pamela revived the Wonersh Monday Lunch Club in 1986 and also helped at Bramley Day Centre for years.2 In 2000 New year honours list Pamela was awarded an MBE for services to the elderly. Pam enjoyed reading, tending her beautiful garden and surrounding herself with her seventeen grandchildren.2 She died in 2020 in Wonersh, Surrey, England, She had a stroke the previous week and her family decided that due to her aversion to the 'County Jail' as she called it, they would bring her home.4
