     John Sherlock Hicks was baptised on 7 January 1822 in St Clement Danes, Westminster, London, England, the family lived at 10 Hernlock Court and his father was an engraver.1 He was the son of Robert Hicks and Ann Geogh. He married Sarah Ann Elizabeth Cunningham on 21 April 1842 in St Marys, Battersea, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Thorn and Thomas Stevens. John was an artist his father Robert was described also as an artist. Sarah's father Thomas Cunningham was also an artist.2 He died on 2 May 1864 in 1 Rue de Lacépède, Paris, France, at age 42.3,4 His estate was probated on 30 September 1864 Letter of administration were issued on his personal estate. He was described as an ink maker to his widow Sarah. His effects were valued at under £50 and later resworn at the Principal Registry as under £200.4

Richard signed his will on 13 July 1787 and a codicil on 30 September 1788 mentioning his wife Mary, and children Elizbathe, Car=therin, John and Katarn.1 He died in 1789 in Wonersh, Surrey, England.1 His estate was probated on 5 September 1789 in London before the worshipful George Harris Doctor of Laws Surrogate and Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight by the oath of his son John Arnold.1

She married Richard Plumer on 25 September 1783 in Holy Trinity, Bramley, Surrey, England, After a licence and marriage bond was taken out on 24 September 1783 between Richard Plumer of Storrington in Sussex a harness maker and Richard Arnold of Bramley a farmer. The couple due to marry were Richard Plumer and Catherine Arnold of Bramley. David was a wood merchant in the family business.3 He married Margaret Mulcahy in 1936 in East Ham, Essex, England.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register David Alfred Carter Hill was listed as living at The Shrubbery, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, with his father, wife and children David was a wood merchant.5 He died on 2 November 1981 in The Shrubbery, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, at age 77.6,7 His estate was probated on 23 December 1981 in Winchester Administration papers were issued and his effects were valued at £25,996.7
