The ceremony was witnessed by Ellen Kemp and W Kemp James was a labourer like his father Henry Luff. Mary Ann's father John Mitchell was also a labourer.3,4 Her husband James died on 28 October 1925 in The Cedars, Vanzell Road, Eastbourne, Sussex, England.5

James Luff married Mary Ann Mitchell, daughter of John Mitchell and Emma Turrell, on 9 February 1878 in St Mary and All Saints, Dunsfold, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Ellen Kemp and W Kemp James was a labourer like his father Henry Luff.
