The ceremony was witnessed by Alfred W Stevens and William Wallis Allen. Edward was a commercial traveller living at 66 Allerton Road, Stoke Newington. His father Alfred Ward Davey who was a warehouseman. Ethel lived at Avon and was a nurse at St Kilda's Road Stoke Newington. Her father was William Wallis Allen and he was a contractor.3 Ernest enlisted into the 2nd Battalion of the Devon Regiment serving as Corporal 14130.4,5 He died on 1 July 1916 in France killed in action. War gratuities were paid to Miss Caroline M Paget £10 5s 11d on 7 November 1916 and £8 10s on 26 September 1919.4 He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.6

She was baptised on 21 January 1899 in Elstree, Hertfordshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Arthur Jex Davey and Mary Iona Fothergill Davey in the 1911 census in Ockford House, Godalming, Surrey, England.3 Julia left Hong Kong on board the ship Empress of Russia arriving in British Columbia on 4 October 1926. She was listed as a tourist and appears to be travelling with a Japanese gentleman Walter J Cabelou aged 54 whose wife was Mrs L Cabelou. Julia gave her sister Mrs Arthur Wyllie of 1873 Nelson Street in Vanvouver as her contact in Canada.4
Mary and her daughter Julia travelled 2nd class to Southampton on board the ship Melita leaving from Montreal, Quebec arriving on 12 November 1926. They gave their address as 22 Craven Hill in Bayswater.5 Julia left Kobe in Japan arriving in Vancouver on 25 July 1930 on board the ship Empress of Canada. She was a nurse and was going to visit her sister Mrs G S Wyllie at 975 57th Avenue West Vancouver in Bristish Columbia. She had left her frined Mrs A L Cloudber at the Grand Hotel des Wagens in Peking.4 She died on 19 November 1940 in Riordan Home, Calcutta, India, A report appeared in the newspapers on 26 November 1940 of Julia's death in India. Her usual Uk address was 26 Bedford Gardens W8. Her address in India was The Glen Jalapahar Road in Dajeeling.6,7 Her estate was probated on 20 July 1942 in Llandudno to the honourable Mary Iona Fothergill Davey, a widow, her mother. Her effects were valued at £882 5s 4d.7

     Hildegarde Davey was born in 1863 in Kensington, London, England.1 She was the daughter of Horace Davey and Louisa Hawes Donkin. She was listed in the 1871 census in 44 Norfolk Square, Paddington, London, England. The siblings, Hildagarde, Horace, Mildred,Arthur and twins Beatrice and Margaret were all together with 5 servants. Their parents were not at home.2 She married George Patrick Charles Lawrence on 5 August 1883 in St Stephen, Kensington, London, England, after a license was issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Richard Kerwan, Mary Lawrence, Horace Davey and Louisa Davey. George was a Gentleman like his father George Alfred Lawrence. Hildegard's father Horace Davet was a Queen's Counsel.3,4 Her husband George died in 1908 in St Marylebone, London, England.5 She died on 5 June 1927 in Kingston Cottage, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, England.6,7 Her estate was probated on 8 July 1927 in London to Patrick Lawrence a merchant and John Malcolm Graham a Major in HM Army. Her effects were valued at £5,538 13s 11d.7
