The ceremony was witnessed by ? Calthrop and Daisy Rooper. John was a Captain in the Denbighshire Yeomanry, his father Percy Louis Rooper was a ship owner. Isabel's father Everard Calthrop was a consulting engineer.2,3 John and Iris sailed with their daughter Shirley first class on board Port Jackson leaving on 19 February and arriving in London on 21 March 1938. John was a shipping Managera and his daughetr Shirley a student and they all gave their address as Reel Hall in Shamley Green.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Isobel was listed as living at Reel Hall, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, with her husband John. John was a Direct of Port Line Shipping.5 John and Isobel had a litany desk constructed for Christ Church in memory of their two sons Ralph and John who were killed in WW2.6 John and Isabel left Montreal on board Ivernia arriving in Southampton on 3 October 1958 giving their address as Winter's Grace in Shamley Green.

Ralph Bonfoy Rooper1

     Ralph Bonfoy Rooper was born circa 1919.1 He was the son of John Roydon Rooper and Isobel Iris Calthrop.1 David and Ralph as school boys left London bound for Tangier on board Comorin leaving on 17 August 1934. They returned on board Narkinda arriving in Lonon on 7 September 1934.2,3 He died on 16 March 1944 Lieutenant Rooper was killed when HM Motor Torpedo boat no 417 in the Royal Navy was lost through German gunfire. His brother John was killed earlier iin 1941 while in the Fleet Air Arm on HMS Ark Royal.1 He was buried in Bergen General Cemetery, Bergen, Holland, Plot 2 row A grave 2 and is remembered on the Shamley Green War Memorial.

     David Royden Rooper was born on 19 November 1920 he was born at sea.1 He was the son of John Roydon Rooper and Isobel Iris Calthrop. David and Ralph as school boys left London bound for Tangier on board Comorin leaving on 17 August 1934. They returned on board Narkinda arriving in Lonon on 7 September 1934.2,3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register David Royden Rooper was listed as living at Reel Hall, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, with his parents.4 He married Margaret Liddell in 1944 in Westminster, London, England.5 David was in 1946 living in Reel Hall, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.6 He died on 11 September 1991 in 5 Albert Place, Victoria Road, Kensington, London, England, at age 70.7,8 His estate was probated on 2 January 1992 in Winchester. His effects were valued at £700,994.8

     Hugh Deane Wyldbore-Smith was born on 15 February 1907 in Southsea, Hampshire, England.1 He was the son of Hugh F W Wyldbore-Smith and Kate Beatrice Deane. He was the son of Hugh F W Wyldbore-Smith and Kate Beatrice Wyldbore-Smith in the 1911 census in View Mount, Netley Abbey, Hampshire, England.2 He married Rachel Caroline Lucy Orlebar on 5 June 1937 in Colaba, Bombay, India.3 He died on 24 May 1941 at age 34 Lieutenant Commander was in the Royal Navy and Signals Officer on HMS Hood when she was struck by several German shells early in the battle of the Denmark Strait.4 His estate was probated on 24 October 1941 in Appletree Farm, Prinsted, Sussex, England, in Llandudno to Rachel Caroline Lucy Wyldbore-Smith his widow. His effects were valued at £5,221 14s 2d. His usual address was Appletree Farm in Prinsted Sussex.5 He is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial panel 45 column 1 and Shamley Green War Memorial.4

Hugh was a Royal Navy Commander living with his wife, three children and four servants.3 He died on 8 May 1919 at age 50 He was Captain of a Merchant ship who lost his life during U Boat attacks on ships ferrying vital food and material across the Atlantic to Britain.4,1 He was buried in Broadstone Cemetery, Broadstone, Dorset, England.1

He married Robina Ward on 15 April 1939 in Surrey, England.2 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register John was listed as living at Cheswell Barn, Sevenoaks, Kent, England, with his wife Robina. John was a clerk in Barclays Bank and an ambulance driver, his mother was also with them.3 He received the probate of the estate of Kate Beatrice Wyldbore-Smith on 13 May 1959.4 He died on 4 May 1982 in Bristol, Somerset, England, at age 65.5

He was baptised on 6 August 1913 in St Peter, Cranley Gardens, Kensington, London, England, his father was a solicitor and the family lived in 97 Elgin Crescent.2 He died on 19 October 1940 in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England, Francis served as Lance Sergeant with 144 Battery 35 Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery his regimental number was 547024.3,4 He was buried on 23 October 1940 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, in plot M16. The inscription reads 'Dearly loved youngest son of JN and AE Bailey'. The burial register states he was in Air Force Station, Harwell, Berks (4 Brunswick Gardens, Kensington.)3,5
