He was the son of Albert George Boylett and Florence Eliza Boylett in the 1911 census in 5 Shalford Street, Shalford, Surrey, England.2 Herbert enlisted on 9 August 1920 in Guildford into the Queens Royal West Surrey Regimant. Interesingly his army record states his name was Herbert Robert Evans and Boylett was an alias. His parents did not marry until 1906. He was a gardener and his father Albert lived at 8 Pound Place in Shalford. His regimental number was 6078484.3 He married Amy E Johnson on 31 December 1921 in St Mary the Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read The ceremony was witnessed by Richard John Johnson and Caroline Jane Johnson. Herbert was a carter like his father Albert George Boylett. Amy's father Richard Johnson was a hotel porter.4,5 His wife Amy died in 1929 in Guildford, Surrey, England.6

     Grace Frances Hart was born in 1910 in Hove, Sussex, England, her parents were Walter and Fanny Hart.1 She married John Seaton Burns Ivey, son of Elizabeth Lucretia Ivey, in 1937 in Hove, Sussex, England.2 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Grace was listed as living at Dorset Mental Hospital, Dorchester, Dorset, England, I do not know whether this is ur grace but this lady is listed as a patient, and married housewife so it is possible she did seem to disappear?3 John and Grace must have moved to Shamley Green sometime around 1940-41.4 Her husband John died on 28 July 1944.5 When Grace heard of the death of her husband she was living in Hove in Sussex.5 In October 1945 electoral rolls Grace is living in Drummonds, Stonards Brow, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.6 She received the probate of the estate of John Seaton Burns Ivey on 19 January 1945.7 She married Frank H Newell in 1946 in Hove, Sussex, England.8

     Lionel Edward Lock was born on 19 February 1916 in Henley, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was the son of George Richard Lock and Sarah Hannah Gillard. On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Lionel Edward Lock was listed as living at Grist Hill Farm, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, with his parents Lionel was a milk roundsman.2 He died on 6 August 1944 in Arezzo, Italy, at age 28 in action. Lionel was a gunner, 11th Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery, and part of the Eighth Army, advancing up Italy after having liberated North Africa. His usual address was Grist Hill Farm in Shamley Green.3,4 He was buried in Provincia di Arezzo, Toscana, Italy, in plot VI.D 30.5 His estate was probated on 31 January 1945 in Llandudno. Administration papers were issued to his mother Sarah Hannah Lock, wife of George Richard Lock. His effects were valued at £229 3s 4d.3 Lionel is remembered on the Shamley Green War Memorial.

     John Anthony Rooper was born on 14 September 1916 in Wandsworth, London, England.2,3 He was the son of John Roydon Rooper and Isobel Iris Calthrop. He was baptised on 10 October 1916 in Holy Trinity, Chelsea, London, England, his father was a ship owner and the family lived at 89 Overstrand Mansions in Battersea.3 He died on 11 June 1941 at age 24 John was Lieutenant in the Fleet Air Arm serving on the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal when he was killed in a flying accident. His brother Ralph died three years later during active service.1 His estate was probated on 20 August 1941 Administration papers were issued in Llandudno to John Royden Rooper a company director His effects were valued at £2,551 18s 2d. His address was listed as Reel Hall, Shamley Green.4 John is remembered on the Lee on Solent Memorial bay 1 panel 7 and on the Shamley Green War Memorial.

     John Roydon Rooper was born on 23 May 1890 in Chester, Cheshire, England, his parents were Percy L and Alice N Rooper née Royden.1 He married Isobel Iris Calthrop on 9 November 1915 in Holy Trinity, Chelsea, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by ? Calthrop and Daisy Rooper. John was a Captain in the Denbighshire Yeomanry, his father Percy Louis Rooper was a ship owner. Isabel's father Everard Calthrop was a consulting engineer.2,3 John and Iris sailed with their daughter Shirley first class on board Port Jackson leaving on 19 February and arriving in London on 21 March 1938. John was a shipping Managera and his daughetr Shirley a student and they all gave their address as Reel Hall in Shamley Green.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register John was listed as living at Reel Hall, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, with his wife Isobel. John was a Direct of Port Line Shipping.5 John and Isobel had a litany desk constructed for Christ Church in memory of their two sons Ralph and John who were killed in WW2.6 John arrived at Liverpool from Montreal on board Saxonia. He was aged 65 and listed as retired giving his address as Winter's Grace in Shamley Green.4 John and Isabel left Montreal on board Ivernia arriving in Southampton on 3 October 1958 giving their address as Winter's Grace in Shamley Green. He died in 1974 in Surrey, England.7
