     Charles Francis Swayne was born on 24 November 1916 in Shamley Green, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of Sidney George Swayne and Alice Mary Blackman. He was baptised on 24 December 1916 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, his father was a farmer.2 He died on 29 March 1943 in Aldershot, Hampshire, England, at age 26 Charles was a signalman with 45th Div of Royal Corps of Signals. His service number 567756.3 He was buried on 2 April 1943 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, his home address was Sunnybank in Hullbrook Lane in Shamley Green.4

     Margaret Anne Swayne was born on 14 September 1919 in Shamley Green, Surrey, England.1 She was the daughter of Sidney George Swayne and Alice Mary Blackman. On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Margaret Anne Swayne was listed as living at Sunnybank, Hullbrook Lane, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, with her parents Margaret was a fruit farming gardener and chauffeur.2 She married James Henry Hook, son of Ernest James Hook and Ada Mabel Tanner, on 8 December 1945 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, after a licence had been issued on 11 October 1945. The ceremony was witnessed by S G Swayne and TL Brown. James was a RAF Corporal with an address of 26 Eastwood Road in Bramley. He served as ground crew on many ships. His father Ernest James Hook was a baker. Margaret lived at Sunnybank in Shamley Green. Her father Sidney George Swayne was a gardener.3,4

The ceremony was witnessed by Maurice Moorey Baker, Marjorie Ann Baker, Laurie Baker, George Ernest Godwin and Ernest Swayne. Henry was a grocer and his father Sidney James Swayne was a farmer.
