     Stephen Arthur Chalcraft was born on 25 August 1862 in Liphook, Hampshire, England.1 He married Bertha Messenger, daughter of William Messenger and Ellen Newman, on 25 September 1901 in Holy Trinity, Tulse Hill, Lamneth, London, England, after a license had been issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Cradock Lazenby and Agnes Atkinson. Stephen was a Corn merchant living at Manor House in Farnham. His father Edward Chalcraft deceased had been a farmer. Bertha's father William Messenger was also deceased and had worked as an estate agent.1,2 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 40 York Road, Forest Gate, London, England. Stephen was a foreman in a match factory living with his wife.3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Stephen was listed as living at 105 The Causeway, Petersfield, Hampshire, England, with his wife Bertha. Stephen was a retired Auctioneers Managing Clerk.4 He died on 12 January 1942 in 105 The Causeway, Petersfield, Hampshire, England, at age 79.5,6 His estate was probated on 10 March 1942 in Llandudno to his widow Bertha Chalcraft. Stanley was a shippinbg clerk.3 He married Florrie Catherine Woolley in 1913 in Lewisham, London, England.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Stanley was listed as living at 183 George Lane, Lewisham, London, England, with his wife Florrie. Stanley was a shipbrokers clerk and a part time special constable in the Metrpolitan police force.5 His wife Florrie died on 24 October 1952 in Lewisham Hiospital, Lewisham, London, England.6,7 He died on 10 November 1952 in 53 Burnt Ash Road, Lee, London, England, at age 61 his usual address was 185 George Lane.8,7 His estate was probated on 18 February 1953 in London to Stanley William Goodchild a shipping accountant.      Frederick George Bruford was baptised on 24 April 1874 in St Nicolas, Cranleigh, Surrey, England. He was the son of George Bruford and Fanny Ellen Messenger. He appeared as a boarder in the 1881 census in Baynards Hotel, Cranleigh, Surrey, England. Frederci, Maud, Clara and Kathleen were all boarding in the hotel. Their Governess Caroline Finley was with them.1 He married Helena Wadson on 7 February 1909 in St Saviour, Forest Gate, Essex, England.2 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 15 and 17 Jesse Road, Leyton, London, England. Frederick was a bar retailer in an off licence living with his wife and daughter.3 Frederick enlsited on 22 March 1917 into the Australian Imperial Force stating he was an orchardist.4 Frederick visited the UK a couple of times in early 1950's.5 He died on 9 September 1954 in Tasmainia, Australia, at age 80. He was buried in Carr Villa Memorial Park, Kings Meadow, Launceston City, Tasmainia, Australia.

Sarah Darnell was a widow.2 In the London Gazette of 3 April 1917 William and his son William Townsend Timbrell it was reported hat they were leather-factors and carpenters of Grange Walk, Bermondsey and were declared bankrupt on 2 September 1816.3

Her father John Nye a gardener gave his consent to the marriage.2,3 He died in 1819.1 His estate was probated on 19 August 1819 at London before the worshipful Charles Coote Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oaths of Sarah Sparkes and Arthur Lunn executors.1
