Dorothy sailed back to London 2nd class on board the ship Merkara with her two daughters Pamela and Monica arriving in London on 24 October 1929 giving their proposed address in the UK as The Bungalow in Shamley Green in Surrey.2 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Monica Rosemary Sommerville was listed as living at Appach Road, Brixton Hill, Lambeth, London, England, with her parents.3 She died in November 2002 in Rhondda, Glamorganshire, Wales, at age 75.4

Charles was a labourer in the steel works. It was suggested that Charles and Maud had three children two of whom had died . I could not find the third child|.5 He died on 13 October 1914 in France Charles was serving as a Private in the Duke of Edinburgh's (Wilthsire) Regiment 1st Battalion and was killed in action.6
