William was a fishmonger dealer living with his wife and two of his children with two servants.4 He died on 12 December 1914 in Leytonstone, London, England, from a heart attack.5 He was buried in St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Leytonstone, London, England, William and Emma were buried under the same gravestone in plot 110A F Plot 6.6

Emma Jane Whelan was born on 10 July 1864. She married William Hitchcock in 1887 in West Ham, London, England.1 She was the wife of William Hitchcock in the 1901 census in 517 Leytonstone Road, Leytonstone, London, England. William was a fruiterer living with his wife and children. He did get her to go to his home in Shamley Green. Alma, his wife, had fetched her mother and sister over to Ameica.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Emma was listed as living at Shamley Cottage, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.6 She died on 26 September 1942 in Shamley Cottage, Shamley Green, Surrey, England, at age 78.7,8 She was buried in St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Leytonstone, London, England, William and Emma were buried under the same gravestone in plot 110A F Plot 6.9
Her estate was probated on 16 March 1943 Administration with a will was issued in Llandudno to Ellen Kathleen Ingram a married woman. Her effects were valued at £102 7s 5d.7

She was the daughter of William Hitchcock and Emma Jane Hitchcock in the 1901 census in 517 Leytonstone Road, Leytonstone, London, England.2 She was the daughter of William Hitchcock and Emma Jane Hitchcock in the 1911 census in 175 Salmons Lane, Limehouse, London, England. Ellen helped in her fathers fishmonger business.3 She married Harry Lee in 1915 in St George in the East, London, England.4 She married Albert E Ingram in 1931 in Fulham, London, England.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Ellen was listed as living at 106 Coventry Road, Ilford, Essex, England, Ellen is listed as a divorced person living with John C Lee a newspaper journalist.6 She received the probate of the estate of Emma Jane Hitchcock on 16 March 1943 Administration with a will was issued in Llandudno to Ellen Kathleen Ingram a married woman. Her effects were valued at £102 7s 5d.7 She died on 30 January 1979 in 97 Elgar Lodge, Hayesford Park, Bromley, London, England, at age 86.8,7 Her estate was probated on 8 May 1979 in London. Her effects were valued at £16,508.7

Alfred Joseph Hitchcock was born on 13 August 1899 in Leytonstone, London, England, Alfred was named after his father's brother Alfred.1,2 He was the son of William Hitchcock and Emma Jane Whelan. He was the son of William Hitchcock and Emma Jane Hitchcock in the 1901 census in 517 Leytonstone Road, Leytonstone, London, England.3 He was the son of William Hitchcock and Emma Jane Hitchcock in the 1911 census in 175 Salmons Lane, Limehouse, London, England.4 He married Alma Lucy Reville on 2 December 1926 in Brompton Oratory, Kensington, London, England.1,5
It is understood that Alfred bought Winters Grace a Tudor farmhouse set in 11 acres on Stroud Lane in Shamley Green when Alma discovered she was pregnant in 1928. Alfred, Alma and Patricia sailed from Southampton on the Queen Mary on 18 August 1937. They gave their address as Pinewood Studios Iver Heath in Buckinghamshire. They were bound for New York.6 Alfred and Alma arrived in Southampton on 13 September 1937 on board the ship Georgic from New York. They gave their address as Shamley Cottage, Shamley Green in Surrey and he gave his occupation as a film director.7 Alfred and Alma sailed on 1 June 1938 to New York from Southampton on board the Queen Mary they returned on board Normandie sailing home arriving on 18 July 1938.8,7 Alfred tried to persuade his mother to move to California with him and his wife and he was very worried about the bombs in London. He did get her to go to his home in Shamley Green. Alma, his wife, had fetched her mother and sister over to Ameica.9 Alfred sailed from Southampton on board the ship Bremen on 29 April 1939 bound for New York. He was going to set up home in Los Angeles where Alfred soon made his mark as a movie director.8 He was listed as head of household in the US 1940 census in 609 St Cloud Way, Los Angeles, California, USA. Alfred is listed as a movie director living with his wife, daughter a maid and a companion.10 He died on 29 April 1980 in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California, USA, at age 80 from kidney failure. Legendary British Motion Picture Director. Called the "Master of Suspense" he is best remembered for his numerous suspense films, including "Dial M for Murder" (1954), North by Northwest" (1959), "Psycho" (1960), and "The Birds" (1963). He is considered one of the greatest British filmmakers of all times. He was noted for his cameo appearances in his own films. His body was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean.1
