Anthony William Hutchings was born on 21 October 1923 in Guildford, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Arthur Hutchings and Bertha A Lovell. Arthur was a mechanic travelling third class with his wife and son, boarded Orca in Southampton on 11 August 1925 bound for New York. They gave Arthur's mothers address Mrs H Hutchings Small, Ridge, Axminster in Devon and their home address as Mount Pleasant, Peaslake near Guildford.2,3 He was the son of Arthur Hutchings and Bertha A Hutchings in the US 1930 census in Forest House, Richmond, New York, USA.4 He married Marie ... in 1948 in Nimes, France, after meeting in France in 1947 when Tony was stationed with the RAF at Istres, near Marseilles and Mimi was living in Aix-en-Provence. Tony could not speak French and Mimi could only speak a few words of English. they honeymooned in Montpellier.5 Tony and Mima came to England in July 1948 and stayed with Tony's parents and sister on the Hogsback before they all moved to Flat 7, Doon Place in Compton in 1949 - 1952. Tony went to work for and engineering company in Godalming and Mimi worked as a translator.5,6 Tony and Mimi moved by 1962 to 38 Spiceall Estate in Compton.6 Tony and Mimi moved into 1 Diamond Cottage in Wonersh in 1968.5 Tony and Mimi's Golden wedding anniversary was recorded in the Surrey Advertiser on 6 February 1998.5
He died on 26 December 1999 in 1 Diamond Cottages, Barnett Lane, Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 76.7,8,9 His body and that of Marie Hutchings were cremated and their ashes buried in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery on 4 January 2017.9

Her mother died in France in 1979 aged 95.1,2 She married Anthony William Hutchings, son of Arthur Hutchings and Bertha A Lovell, in 1948 in Nimes, France, after meeting in France in 1947 when Tony was stationed with the RAF at Istres, near Marseilles and Mimi was living in Aix-en-Provence. Tony could not speak French and Mimi could only speak a few words of English. they honeymooned in Montpellier.1 Tony and Mima came to England in July 1948 and stayed with Tony's parents and sister on the Hogsback before they all moved to Flat 7, Doon Place in Compton in 1949 - 1952. He was baptised on 2 June 1895 in Holy Trinity, Bramley, Surrey, England, his parents were George and Jane Jackson, the family lived in Bramley and his father was a smith.1 He was the son of Edward George Jackson and Jane Jackson in the 1901 census in Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Edward George Jackson and Jane Jackson in the 1911 census in Woodrough Cottage, Bramley, Surrey, England. Thomas was a saddlers assistant.3 Thomas joined the The Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment) 8th Battalion at the commencement of the war as Private G/2006. He left England in September 1915 and was reported as missing since 21 August 1916. It is believed he was previously employed by Mr Bushby the butcher in Wonersh.4 Edward and Jane were living in the High Street in Bramley when they received news that Thomas who had been reported as missing in action had died on 21 August 1916.4 He died on 21 August 1916 at age 21.5 Thomas is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial on Pier and Face 5d and 6d and on the Bramley War Memorial.5
