Douglas Moeller was born on 25 June 1913 in Argentina his father was a German called Henry Moeller and he had an English mother Emily.1 Douglas arrived in UK aged two following the death of his father.2 Douglas attended Bedford School and grew into an avid patriot. After leaving school he went to work in Africa for a shipping company, later returning home.2 He married Cristabel Watson in 1938 in Wincanton, Somerset, England.2,3 Douglas career then took him to Brazil, where he stayed until 1953. He wanted to take an active part in the war but he was asked to stay put and 'be helpful' to the British cause.2 When the Moellers returned to UK they moved in Chinthurst Hill, Wonersh, Surrey, England.2 Douglas was issued passport number 571787 by the Foreign Office in London on 16 November 1960. I assume this was for his business interests.1 Douglas was a sports enthusiast, with a talent for tennis, and worked in the City in timber and shipping until he retired in 1965. He sold many items from his Aladdin's cave of a home and raised much funds for the Conservatives for whom he was a passionate supporter.4 His wife Cristabel died in February 1989 in Surrey, England.5,4 He died on 5 February 1999 in Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Surrey, England, at age 85 after collapsing the previous Saturday at his home - Chinthurst Hill in Wonersh. His companion for the last few years was Louisa Drew.6,2 He was buried on 19 February 1999 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England.2
