Arthur William Edwin Longhurst was born on 19 March 1904 in Abinger Hammer, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of Peter Longhurst and Minnie Hoad.1 He was the son of Peter Longhurst and Minnie Longhurst in the 1911 census in Goose Green Farm, Shere, Surrey, England.3 Peter and his wife Minnie and their son Arthur were living in 1927 in 1 Lawnsmead, Wonersh, Surrey, England. He married Norah Pullen on 17 August 1929 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by John Walter Eastick and Alfred Grey. Arthur was a printer and his father Peter Longhurst was a gardener. Norah's father Joseph Pullen was a labourer.4,5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Arthur was listed as living at 99 Roundhill Way, Guildford, Surrey, England, with his wife Norah. Arthur was a master printer for a letter press living with his wife, is father and four others.6 He died in January 1992 in Surrey, England, at age 87.7

Beatrice May Longhurst was born on 19 September 1908 in Gomshall, Surrey, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Peter Longhurst and Minnie Hoad.1 She was the daughter of Peter Longhurst and Minnie Longhurst in the 1911 census in Goose Green Farm, Shere, Surrey, England.3 She married Alfred Harry Hooper on 17 November 1928 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Peter Longhurst and J W Hooper. Alfred was a printer and his father Alfred John Hooper was a hammerman. The father of Bessie May as she signed herself was Peter Longhurst, he was a gardener.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Beatrice was listed as living at 82 Southway, Guildford, Surrey, England, with her husband Alfred. Alfred was a printer, machine minder living with his his wife Bessie and their children.5 Her husband Alfred died in 1970 in Surrey, England.6 She died in 1971 in Tonbridge, Kent, England.7
