He married Mary Cary on 10 November 1777 in St Mary, Lambeth, London, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Tom Sluekhy and James Singlaton.2 John was registered on 7 June 1794 as an oil leather dresser apprentice to John Jones in Godalmingm, Surrey.3 John wrote his will on stating that his sons James and Charles be his executors. The will also mentions his son Isaac and daughter Elizabeth and then later his several other children John, Richard, Edward and Ann Burchatt. He wrote two codicils to the will, one on 30 August 1839 and the second 6 December 1839.4 In 1839 John lived at Church Street in a freehold house.5 He died in 1840 in Guildford, Surrey, England.6 His estate was probated on 31 August 1841 The will and two codiciles were proved to James Twycross of Wokingham a woolstapler and Charles Twycross of Cattershall, a leather dresser.4
