He was the son of John Dalrymple Belgrave and Gwladys Herbert Berkeley Belgrave in the 1921 census in 2 Bulfer Village, Figheldean, Wiltshire, England.² He received the probate of the estate of Katharine Margaret Belgrave on 27 November 1967.³ He died on 12 June 1974 in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, England, at age 61.^4,3 His estate was probated on 6 December 1974 Administration papers were issued in Winchester. His effects were valued at £186,442 and he is described as being of L'hubac du Peyron 3440 Fayence in France.³

     Thomas Robert Dalrymple Belgrave was born on 14 July 1920 in Piddlehinton, Dorset, England.¹ He was the son of John Dalrymple Belgrave and Gwladys Herbert Berkeley Watts. He was the son of John Dalrymple Belgrave and Gwladys Herbert Berkeley Belgrave in the 1921 census in 2 Bulfer Village, Figheldean, Wiltshire, England.² He appeared on the census of 29 September 1939 in the household of Sybil Belgrave in West Lodge, Piddlehinton, Dorset, England, Sybil was working for the YMCA routine war emergency work and living with her nephew Thomas Belgrave and two servants.³ He married Susan A Staveley in 1947 in Westminster, London, England.⁴ He died on 19 August 1991 in West Lodge, Piddlehinton, Dorset, England, at age 71.^5,6 His estate was probated on 19 December 1991 in Winchester, his effects did not exceed £125,000 in value.⁶

     Thomas Dacres P Helps was born on 29 January 1923 in Kensington, London, England.¹ He was the son of Arthur Leonard Helps and Kathleen Belgrave. He married Armorel M Low in 1949 in Chelsea, London, England.² He died in 1986 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England.³

     Dorothy Joan Whittenham was born circa 1921. She married Walter Frank Sharvell on 4 March 1950 in St John the Baptist, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Harold E Hutchins and Kenneth V S Sharwell. Walter wa widower was a gardener. His father, Smith Sharwell who was deceased had been a foreman. Dorothy was a spinster her father Edward Whittenshaw was also deceased and had been a farm worker.¹

     Pieter Betlem was born in 1926 in Brentford, Middlesex, England, Pieter Betlem can be proud of his Dutch descent through at least 24 traceable generations. Coming from the Netherlands in the early 1900s, when his father began working as an artistic painter for Aspreys in Bond
Street, his parents settled in the UK just prior to the start of WWI. His parents lived in Brondsbury Park where Pieter’s brother Henk was born in 1912. Fourteen years later Pieter arrived on the scene.^2,3 As a Press photographer Pieter’s work included the taking of many ‘photo-lapse’ shots of close finishes at greyhound race tracks, at horse races at Ascot and at athletic events, including the Windsor Park 1948 Olympic Men’s 100m race when both Dillard and Ewell touched the tape; but from the photograph the judges could confirm the former as the winner by a fraction of a second. Both cameras and photographic processing developed rapidly during Pieter’s long career. Some of the main changes were the automation of processing, most of which had formerly been done laboriously by hand and then the 1970’s introduction of digital photography.² He married Doreen J Warren on 27 November 1948 in Holborn, London, England.^2,4 In the late 1980s Peter and Doreen moved from S. London to live in Marlowe, Stroud Lane, Shamley Green. More recently they re-located to the Quoin Cottage in the centre of the village. For twelve years Pieter served as Shamley Green ward’s Borough Councillor, then, more briefly, as the Wonersh Borough Councillor. His particular interests were in education, youth services and recreational provision, applying his experience as a keen swimmer and parent; also in planning developments and the environme.² In 1999 he was selected by his fellow Councillors to be Waverley’s Millennial Mayor. Consquently he had to attend numerous special functions all over the Borough and was usually accompanied Doreen.² His wife Doreen died circa 2021.² He died on 27 November 2023 in Lincolnshire, England, peacefully at home. Pieter and Doreen until recently lived in Quoin Cottage on the corner of the Green and prior to that at Marlowe in Stroud Lane. Doreen passed away two years ago. Pieter is survived by their five children: Stuart, Sandy, Suzie, Sallie & Steph, and six grandchildren: Kristofer, Robert, Sam, Oliver, Georgie & Nick.² He was buried on 21 December 2023 in Christ Church, Shamley Green, Surrey, England.²

     Doreen J Warren married Pieter Betlem on 27 November 1948 in Holborn, London, England.^1,2 She died circa 2021.¹
