Obidiah was a hoop maker living with his wife, sons and a nurse Hannah Greenhill.5 His wife Frances died on 27 May 1855 in South Stoneham, Hampshire, England.6,7 He received the probate of the estate of Frances Budgeon on 13 October 1863 The Probate index read: Administration papers were issued f the Personal estate and effects of Frances Budge(o)n (wife of Obediah Budgen) late of Shirley in the County of Southampton deceased who died 27 May 1855 at Shirley aforesaid were granted at the Principal Registry to the said Obediah Bugden of 9 Millbank Street Northam in the Town and County Town of Southampton Hoop Maker he having been sworn. Her effects were valued at under £100.7 He died in 1888 in West Hoathly, Sussex, England.8
