     Mabel Quinton was born on 7 January 1884 in Sherborne, Dorset, England, although the national register suggests a different and incorrect year.1 She was the daughter of Henry Quinton and Mary Ann Ironside. She was the daughter of Henry Quinton and Mary Ann Ironside in the 1901 census in Cassleton House Cottage, Sherborne, Dorset, England. Mabel was a glove machinist.2 She married William John Hann on 6 March 1902 in Castleton, Dorset, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Robert Quinton and Annie Quinton. William was an agent for sewing machines from Andover in Hampshire. His father also William John Hann was a coachman. Mabel's father Henry Quinton was a labourer.3,4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Mabel was listed as living at 15 Canal Street, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with her husband William. William was a coffee stall attendant.5 Her husband William died on 14 January 1944 in 15 Canal Street, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.6,7 She received the probate of the estate of William John Hann on 26 February 1944 Administration papers with a will were issued in Oxford to Mabel Hann his widow. His effects were valued at £362 17s 2d.6 She married William P Gilks in 1945 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.8 She died in 1960 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.9
