     William Braund was born on 24 June 1804 in Woolfardisworthy, Devon, England.1 He was the son of Joseph Braund and Susanna Glover.1 He married Harriott Elliott circa 1831.1 He died on 2 January 1890 in Port Hope, Welcome, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada, at age 85.1 He was buried in Welcome United Church Cemetery, Welcome, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada, His gravestone gives his name as Captain William Braund.1
