     Edward George Strudwick was born in 1921 in Hambledon, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of Albert George Strudwick and Edith Mary Hedger. He died on 14 August 1939 in Eastbourne, Sussex, England, He drowned while bathing at Eastbourne where he had gone only two days before for a week's holiday. He had been a member of the Wonersh Church choir since he was 9 years old and had also been for some years one of their bell ringers.2,3 He was buried on 19 August 1939 in Wonersh and Blackheath Cemetery, Wonersh, Surrey, England, in plot 554 after a service in St John the Baptist.4

Her father worked as a labourer.3 She married Albert George Strudwick on 19 June 1920 in St Mary the Virgin, Shalford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Christopher Harold Strudwick and Albert Killick. Albert was a shoemaker and his father Melaudlin George Strudwick was a gardener. Edith's father Alfred Hedger was a labourer.4,5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Edith was listed as living at Maple Villa, Eastwood Road, Bramley, Surrey, England, with her husband Albert. She was the daughter of Edward Arthur Somerset and Agatha Somerset in the 1861 census in Queenstown Lodge, Queens Crescent, Portsea, Hampshire, England.2 She married Charles Arthur Baldwin Knyvett Leighton in 1879 in Eastbourne, Sussex, England.3 Her husband Charles died on 18 May 1889 in Naini Tal, Bengal, India.4,5 She received the probate of the estate of Charles Arthur Baldwin Knyvett Leighton on 7 September 1889 She was living at Troy House in Monmouth, Denbighshire.5 She was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in Old Rickhurst, Chiddingfold, Surrey, England.
