     Gerald Holgate Selous was born on 14 July 1887 in Richmond upon Thames, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of Edmund Selous and Fanny Margaret Maxwell.1 He appeared in the 1901 census in The Vicarage, Stow cum Quy, Cambridgeshire, England. Gerald was one of seven boy pupils living with Arthur and Margaret Colborne and their family. Arthur was a Church of England clergyman and Tutor. The householdalso consisted of private governess, domestic housemaid, domestic cook and domestic boys maid.3 The Supplement to the London Gazette of 30 March 1920 reported that Gerald was British Vice Consul in Saffi.4 Gerald left Southampton on 4 July 1922 on board Kawi bound for Tangier in Morocco. He was in the Consular service and gave his home address as 11 Kings Road in Richmond.5 He married Camilla Lippincott on 25 March 1924 in American Church, Paris, France, Their engagement had been announced in the New York Times on 5 February and their wedding plans were announced on 17 March in the New York Times. Their Marriage was reported in Gloucestershire Chronicle of 29 March 1924.6,7,8 Gerald and Camilla left Plymouth on 3 June 1926 on board Paris bound for New York, giving their address as Wyke Castle in Weymouth.5 Gerald and Camilla arrived on 9 June 1926 in New York from Plymouth in England. Gerald was listed as a Consul having last lived with Camilla in Casablanca in Morocco Gerald's father Edmund was listed as living in Wyke Castle in Weymouth in England.6 Gerald arrived in Southampton on 22 July 1927 on board Tabanan from Surabaya in Indonesia. He was listed asan HMB Consul and gave his address as 5 India Street in Edinburgh.9 Gerald left Southampton on 23 September 1887 on board Indrapoera bound for Tangier in Morocco. He travelled 1st class and was listed as H M Consul giving his UK address as 45B Courtfield Gardens SW5.5 Gerald left Southampton on 13 October 1933 on board Dempo bound for Tangier in Morocco. His occupation was listed as Commercial and his address in UK was Flemings Hotel, Clarges Street W1.5 Gerald, Camilla and their son Gerald sailed from Surabaya in Indonesia arriving on 16 June 1935 in Southampton. They gave their address as Lydwell in Weymouth, Dorset. Gerald was listed as a diplomat.9 Gerald left Glasgow in Scotland on board Pacific Pioneer arriving in New York on 30 May 1942. He was listed as being in the Diplomatic Service from Richmond in Surrey.6 Gerald and Camilla of Currey Mallett presented a mobile library yo the YMCA for the use of men and women in the Forces in South Somerset. It was handed over on 16 July 1942 by Mrs A Hamilton Gault on behalf of Mr and Mrs Selous who were with their son Gerald in Canada. Camilla's mother had attended the ceremony and bought three beautiful and valuable books, a bible and two volumes of Shakespeare's works, which she added to the library shelves.10,11 The Gloucestershire Echo of Wednesday 2 January 1946 announced that Gerald had been awarded the OBE, he was listed as Councellor at the British Legation in Berne and son of Edmund Selous formerly of Clarence Square in Cheltenham.12 He died on 28 February 1978 in Chateau D'haiteville, 1806 St Legier, Legier Vaud, Switzerland, at age 90.13 His estate was probated on 12 September 1978 in London. His effects were valued at £33,067.13

     Ethel Grace Pollock was born on 26 March 1862 in St George Hanover Square, London, England.1,2 She was the daughter of James Edward Pollock and Marianne Malvars.1 She was baptised on 25 July 1862 in St Stephen the Martyr, Hampstead, London, England, her father was a surgeon and the family lived in 52 Upper Brook Street.2 She was a daughter of James Edward Pollock and Marianne Pollock in the 1871 census in 52 Upper Brook Street, Hyde Park, London, England.3 She was the daughter of James Edward Pollock and Marianne Pollock in the 1881 census in 52 Upper Brook Street, Hyde Park, London, England.4 She was the daughter of James Edward Pollock and Marianne Pollock in the 1891 census 52 Upper Brook Street, Hyde Park, London, England.5 She was the daughter of James Edward Pollock in the 1901 census in 52 Upper Brook Street, Hyde Park, London, England.6 She received the probate of the estate of James Edward Pollock on 11 February 1911.7 She received the probate of the estate of Marianne Pollock on 13 March 1911 in London. Administration papers were issued with a will to Ethel Grace Pollock. Her effects were valued at £5.7 She married Leonard P Robin in 1918 in Marylebone, London, England.8 Her husband Leonard died in 1918 in Pancras, London, England.9 Ethel was living in Church Woods in 1938.10 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Ethel was listed as living at Church Woods, The Street, Wonersh, Surrey, England, Ethel was living on private means with Florence Edwina Foley as her housekeeper.11 She died on 8 July 1943 in Church Woods, The Street, Wonersh, Surrey, England, at age 81.12,13,7 The sale of contents of Grace's cottage, Church Woods was reported in Surrey Advertiser on 4 and 18 September 1943.14 Her estate was probated on 8 September 1943 in Llandudno to Frances Christina Musgrave a spinster. Her effects were valued at £3,384 13s 4d and were sresworn as £6,441 5s 6d.7
