We planned to go to the Vintage
Aircraft Daffodil flyin at Turweston, the weathermen were saying the
visibility will be great, the wind not to bad. So we got up early,
seemed even earlier since the clocks went forward the previous night.
The
viz was not good so we stopped off at Popham for a chat in the hopes that
the mist would clear. It was certainly taking its time. A very
week sun appeared and we headed off for the airfield. Got the plane
ready and took off. Sadly it was a very deceiving sky. Although
you could see for miles straight up, viz forward was not good, so before we
lost the airfield we circled and landed.
We had a cup of coffee and chatted to a couple of lads who were "playing"
with their plane. We took off again and this time we abandoned all
hope of getting to Turweston and headed for Popham. Here we had a
sandwich and coffee and a look around. Then we headed back home, the
viz was still not brilliant, but we were pleased to at least have aired the
plane. Maybe next time the weather will be better. |
