     John Edward Daulby was born circa 1816 at Mere, Wiltshire, England. He married Elizabeth Lucy Hamilton, daughter of William Thomas Tubbs and Elizabeth Bennett, on 27 December 1858 at All Saints, Tower Hamlets, London, England, after the banns had been read on 12 December. The ceremony was witnessed by Mary Cooper and George Philo. John was a draper and his father John Daulby was a solicitor. Elizabeth's father William Thomas Tubbs was a shipwright.1,2 He was listed as head of household in the 1861 census at Braintree, Essex, England.
