     Sophia Townsend was born about 1824 in Sharnford, Leicestershire, England.1 She married Job Calow, son of John Calow, in 1852 in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England.2 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Sharnford, Leicestershire, England, she was listed as the wife of Job Calow she was listed as a stocking and framwework knitter.3 Sophia died in 1903 in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England.4

He married Leah Beatrice Greathead, daughter of James William Greathead and Leah Gertrude Cantrill, on 30 March 1929 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.1,2 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Ernest was listed as living at 211 Chim Brook Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, with his wife Leah. Ernest was a capstan lathe tool setter and a part time AFS.3 His wife Leah died on May 1986 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, aged 81.4
